The MAEN Hudson 38 GMT MKII is a compact, caller-style mechanical GMT watch: its independent 24-hour hand tracks a second time zone, while its bidirectional bezel can be used to read a third. The key practical details are its 38 mm case, 47 mm lug-to-lug, 11 mm stated thickness excluding the domed crystal, and configuration-dependent price. It is not a traveler-style GMT with an independently jumping local hour hand.
What is the MAEN Hudson 38 GMT MKII?
The MKII is MAEN’s redesigned version of its Hudson 38 GMT. The company lists a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 38 mm across and 47 mm from lug tip to lug tip. Its stated 11 mm thickness excludes the box-domed sapphire crystal; Fratello reports 13.1 mm including the crystal, so compare thickness figures only when their measuring conventions match.
The watch has a jet-black dial, a closed screw-down caseback, and a bidirectional bezel with a 24-hour scale and 60 clicks. MAEN specifies 30 ATM (300 m) water resistance. That is the manufacturer’s rating, not a guarantee of suitability for every activity or an independently tested result. The official specifications are on MAEN’s Hudson 38 GMT MKII product page.
How does its GMT function work?
The central GMT hand makes one turn in 24 hours and reads against the dial’s 24-hour scale. MAEN says it is set from the crown’s second position. That hand can show a second time zone while the regular hour hand continues to show the time at home. Rotate the 24-hour bezel to add another reference: the GMT hand can then be read against the shifted bezel scale for a third time zone.

- 38mm stainless steel case
- Day date window on dial
- Acrylic lens
- Stainless steel attachment
- Water resistant to 50m (165 ft): In general, suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not diving or snorkeling
This is caller-style GMT operation. It is useful for monitoring another location, but it is different from a traveler-style GMT, whose local hour hand jumps independently in one-hour steps. Travelers who want to change local time without stopping or resetting the watch should check the movement type carefully rather than assuming every GMT watch works the same way.

The reserve figures are a source discrepancy, not a single confirmed value: MAEN’s listing gives approximately 50 hours, while Fratello’s May 2026 hands-on article gives 56. MAEN’s specification is the appropriate figure to use when describing the manufacturer’s stated specs. See Fratello’s hands-on coverage for its account of the watch.

Bracelet, strap and redesign details
MAEN lists an optional five-link bracelet with a 20 mm lug width tapering to 16 mm, solid quick-release end links, and an on-the-fly adjustment clasp. The official page also describes an optional TPU strap. Fratello’s reviewed watch is described with an FKM rubber strap as well as a bracelet option. Check the live product configuration before ordering: strap material and included hardware can vary by bundle or change over time.
MAEN describes the MKII redesign as adding a box-domed crystal, slimmer case and bezel, a lume pip, drilled lugs, revised finishing, an adjustment clasp, quick-release end links, brighter lume, and a 60-click bezel. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions of the changes, not independently measured comparisons with earlier Hudson GMT versions.

Price and availability depend on timing and configuration
Prices reported for the MKII differ by date and bundle. The MAEN product page returned on October 8, 2026 displayed €1,079.20 for the references shown. Fratello reported launch-period pricing on May 14, 2026 of €1,249 during pre-order, €1,349 retail on rubber, and €1,538 for the bracelet configuration. Monochrome’s sponsored first look on May 18, 2026 reported €1,249 for early orders, a €100 increase after May 24, and deliveries planned to start in December 2026. Those are distinct time-sensitive reports, not interchangeable current quotes; check the official storefront for the current configuration, regional price, tax treatment, and delivery status. Monochrome’s account is at its sponsored first look.
What to check before choosing it
- Fit: Use the 47 mm lug-to-lug as well as the 38 mm diameter when judging how it may sit on your wrist. Remember that the 11 mm figure excludes the domed crystal.
- GMT use: Choose it if you want to track other time zones with a 24-hour hand and bezel; look for a traveler-style movement if independently jumping the local hour hand is important.
- Package: Confirm whether the listing includes the bracelet or a strap, and verify the strap material and clasp or adjustment features in that exact bundle.
- Price: Compare the price for the configuration you want in your market, including applicable tax and delivery terms, rather than relying on an earlier launch offer.
