The current blue Mido Ocean Star 600 Chronometer is reference M026.608.11.041.01. Its 43.5 mm case, 14.6 mm average thickness and listed 219 g weight make an in-person fit check important; its 600 m rating and COSC certification describe specific product capabilities, not a promise that it will suit every wrist or outperform every rival. This is a specification-led guide, not a personal wear test.
Which Ocean Star 600 is this?
MIDO’s international product page identifies the blue Ocean Star 600 Chronometer as reference M026.608.11.041.01. Independent coverage describes the .01 as the 2021 update. Older coverage of the blue watch may refer instead to M026.608.11.041.00, so check the full reference when comparing reviews, photographs, or seller listings. The family name alone does not establish that two watches have identical details. See MIDO’s product page and coverage of the updated and earlier versions at Fratello and aBlogtoWatch.
Will its size and weight work for your wrist?
MIDO lists a 43.5 mm round 316L stainless-steel case, an average thickness of 14.6 mm, a 22 mm lug width and a weight of 219 g. Those numbers point to a substantial watch, but they cannot determine how it will sit or feel on a particular wrist. The product specifications do not give a lug-to-lug measurement, and no firsthand fit test is available here.
Try it on with the bracelet adjusted to your wrist, rather than judging from diameter alone. Pay attention to whether the case overhangs your wrist, how the thickness catches on cuffs, and whether the weight remains comfortable as you move your arm. The bracelet has a folding clasp with a safety lock, diver extension and double push-buttons; check how those features affect clasp size and adjustment for you. The listed bracelet reference is M605017383.

What the 600 m rating does—and does not—tell you
MIDO specifies water resistance of 60 bar, equivalent to 600 m / 1,968 ft. Its product page states: “Water-resistant up to a pressure of 60 bar (600 m / 1,968 ft) with screw-down crown.” This is the manufacturer’s stated rating, not an independent test result for this article. The model also has a screw-down crown and a helium valve.
Europa Star’s coverage of the earlier Ocean Star Diver 600 says the watch was water-resistant to 60 bar in accordance with ISO 6425, while noting that the helium valve was not officially certified. That valve detail should not be confused with the watch’s stated depth rating, nor should it be taken as proof of a separate certification for the valve itself. See Europa Star’s coverage.

- Movement: COSC-Certified Automatic Mido Caliber 80 Chronometer SI with silicon balance spring. In addition to its non-magnetic properties, it offers greater precision and improved shock resistance. This caliber ensures exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours.
- This Swiss-made MIDO timepiece, designed to withstand the extreme pressures of the deep sea, is exceptionally water-resistant to 60 bar (600 m/1968 ft). Equipped with a helium valve, it guarantees safe decompression during extended dives.
- Case Type: Stainless steel with ceramic bezel and Sapphire crystal with double sided anti-reflection treatment - Screw-down crown.
- Case Size: 43.5mm - Band Width: 22mm (Tapered) - Case Thickness: 14.55mm
- Strap: Tapered Stainless steel bracelet - Folding clasp with diving extension
A depth rating is not a recommendation to use any watch at that depth without regard to its condition and handling. Follow MIDO’s instructions for crown operation, water exposure and maintenance, and have the watch checked if its water resistance may have been compromised.
What is the movement and what does COSC mean here?
MIDO lists an automatic Caliber 80 Chronometer Si movement with a silicon balance spring, COSC chronometer certification and a power reserve of up to 80 hours. COSC certification is a certification claim for the movement; it is not an accuracy measurement of this individual watch after purchase, and no independent timing result is available here. “Up to 80 hours” is the manufacturer’s stated maximum reserve, not a guarantee of identical running time in every condition.

What to check before buying
- Reference: Confirm that the listing is for M026.608.11.041.01 if you want the current blue version discussed here, rather than the earlier .00.
- Fit: Try the watch on if possible; use the case dimensions and weight as prompts, not substitutes for wearing it.
- Bracelet adjustment: Check the clasp, safety lock and diver extension, and ask how the bracelet can be sized or adjusted for your wrist.
- Strap compatibility: MIDO Canada listed a 22 mm blue rubber-and-fabric strap at CA$125, and the watch has a 22 mm lug width. Width alone does not establish that the strap attachment fits this reference, so confirm compatibility with MIDO or the seller before ordering. Availability and price may change.
- Price and stock: At the time the product pages were checked in 2026, MIDO’s international page showed CHF 1,690 and out-of-stock status, while its Canadian page showed CA$2,610. These are regional page observations, not a guaranteed current price or stock status; check a current seller listing for your market.
- Warranty and service: MIDO lists a five-year warranty. Read the applicable warranty terms for your market and consult the linked manual for use and care instructions.
How to assess it against other diver watches
There is not enough verified competing-model data here to claim that the Ocean Star 600 is smaller, more accurate, better finished or better value than a named alternative. For a meaningful comparison, use like-for-like figures and check whether claims apply to the same reference and market.
