Is Milus a legitimate Swiss watch brand?
Milus is an established Swiss watch brand with a history it traces to Bienne. According to the company, Paul William Junod founded it there in 1919. Milus says leadership passed to his son Paul Herbert Junod in 1951 and then to Paul Herbert’s sons Pierre and Paul in 1982. The company also says it collaborated with other watchmakers to enter the LCD watch market in 1972 and relaunched Snow Star and Archimèdes models in 2019. These are Milus’s own historical accounts.
The brand describes its design as developed in-house and says it works with local partners. It also claims that more than 80% of its production is Swiss Made; the brand page does not provide an independent audit of that figure. Snow Star: a heritage-inspired reissue
Milus presents Snow Star as a modern homage to a historic model. In the company’s account, U.S. Navy pilots in the mid-20th century carried valuable items for bartering in emergency “life-barter kits,” including a Milus Snow Star. Treat that story as brand history rather than independently corroborated evidence. The current store lists Snow Star variants, but the details and availability can change.

Archimèdes Deep Blue: the more water-capable cited model
The official U.S. distributor lists the Archimèdes Deep Blue with a 41 mm stainless-steel case and 10 ATM (100 m) water resistance. Its listed features include a bidirectional internal rotating bezel, a dual-crown Super Compressor-style case, domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a quick-release strap. The page specifies an automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement and a 38-hour power reserve. These figures describe this Deep Blue listing, not every Archimèdes watch.
LAB 01: a design-led model with limited water resistance
Milus lists LAB 01 with a 40 mm brushed and polished 316L steel case, fiberglass dial, Super-LumiNova indexes, sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating, and an open caseback. Its automatic Sellita SW200 movement is listed with 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 3 ATM, so this model should not be treated as equivalent to the Deep Blue for water exposure.

Which Milus should you consider?
- Consider the Archimèdes Deep Blue if you want the stronger stated water-resistance rating among these two documented examples, plus an internal rotating bezel and quick-release strap. A 100 m rating is a model specification, not a guarantee that every watch in the collection is suitable for every water activity; follow the manufacturer’s instructions and keep the case and crowns in sound condition.
- Consider LAB 01 if its dial design, caseback, and proportions appeal to you and your normal wear is away from water. Its listed 3 ATM rating is materially lower than the Deep Blue’s 10 ATM.
- Consider Snow Star if the heritage styling and the specific variant are what you want. Check the selected reference’s movement, water resistance, dimensions, strap, and warranty rather than assuming they match either of the other examples.
The cited pages do not establish comparative accuracy, long-term reliability, resale value, or an independently measured value-for-money advantage. Milus’s FAQ says a return may be requested within 30 days, subject to conditions: the watch must be unworn, undamaged, and unused, returned in its original packaging, and pass quality control. Check the current policy and the terms for your purchasing market before ordering.
The official U.S. distributor describes itself as Milus’s official U.S. distributor, says watches carry the international warranty, and advertises a 24-month warranty. Its Archimèdes Deep Blue page also lists a 24-month warranty and free U.S. delivery. Milus recommends annual water-resistance checks and service by an authorized specialist every four or five years, depending on wearing conditions.
