It followed the experimental 18.01 Abyss Concept, so the H41 was MING’s first production diver—not its first dive-watch project. The H41 pairs a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case with a manufacturer-rated 1km water resistance, an automatic ETA-based movement and a choice of launch configurations. MING’s current model page lists it as sold out.
What makes the H41 MING’s first production diver?
The distinction is between a concept and a series-production model. MING had already explored the design in the 18.01 Abyss Concept; the H41 developed that work into a production watch. In its 15 August 2020 development journal, MING says the name refers to generation H and variant 41, following eight major model families and 41 revisions within the final one.
The brand describes the H41 as a design that had to meet technical requirements for a diver, practical requirements from divers on its team and the aesthetic demands of its then-current design language. Its account of using balanced pressure loading to target the stated depth rating in a 40 × 12.9mm case is the manufacturer’s design rationale, not an independent comparative test.

How the diving-oriented details work
Bezel and elapsed time
The 60-click bezel turns in one direction. MING says it chose a solid bezel to avoid the risk of a separate insert coming loose under pressure or impact. A one-way bezel and a running seconds hand support elapsed-time awareness, but this description does not establish independent performance testing.
Crown and warning indicator
The screw-down crown uses three gaskets and shows a red safety indicator when unscrewed. MING’s user guide is explicit: the watch is not water resistant with the crown unscrewed. The indicator is a reminder to secure it before wearing the watch in water.

Luminous dial
The dial ring uses HyCeram luminous ceramic fused to sapphire, with Super-LumiNova X1 also used on the hands. MING says the luminous material needs charging from bright sunlight or a strong light source, such as an LED torch. Differences in brightness and duration between luminous components are normal, according to the guide.
Movement and construction
The H41 uses a modified automatic ETA 2824-2. Schwarz-Etienne modified the movement for MING, including removal of the calendar function and an intermediate setting position. MING specifies a 40-hour power reserve, 28,800 beats per hour, 25 jewels, central seconds and hacking seconds. It also describes a 250-hour adjustment program across five positions.

The case is Grade 5 titanium, while the solid steel bezel is DLC-coated. The crystal is 3.5mm sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. MING presents titanium as a way to combine lightness and tensile strength; the listed 65g weight is for the watch head, not a complete bracelet-equipped watch.

The five-link bracelet is Grade 5 titanium and has a proprietary deployant clasp and interlock. It uses a universal curved quick-release fitting. The Jean Rousseau Paris rubber strap has a curved 20 × 18mm quick-release fitting and signed pin buckle. Because these fittings are specific, check compatibility before buying a replacement strap or bracelet.
The original package also included a handmade leather travel pouch by Studio Koji Sato. MING listed a two-year limited mechanical warranty at the time; that historical warranty detail does not establish coverage for a pre-owned watch today.

How to operate and care for the H41
- Wind: Unscrew the crown. In the unscrewed, unpulled position, turn it to wind the watch.
- Set the time: Pull the crown to the setting position and move the hands. The seconds hand stops while setting.
- Secure the crown: Push it fully in and screw it down before wearing the watch in water. The red indicator is visible while it is unscrewed; the watch is not water resistant in that state.
- Use the bezel: Rotate it counterclockwise in its 60 clicks to mark elapsed time.
- Clean and charge the lume: Use a soft, clean, damp cloth. MING advises against cleaning agents or solutions; charge the luminous material with bright sunlight or a strong light source.
Can you still buy the MING 18.01 H41?
MING’s official product page currently marks the H41 sold out and displays a waitlist notice.
