The Monaco Yacht Show brings a major concentration of superyachts, marine-industry specialists and visitors to Port Hercule each year. In 2026, its 35th edition reported 118 superyachts, 560 exhibitors and 30,678 visitors. Those figures help explain its pull for yachting fans, though “global mecca” is a description—not an independently verified ranking above other yacht shows.
What is the Monaco Yacht Show?
The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is an annual superyacht exhibition held at Port Hercule in Monaco. The show’s official history dates its origins to 1991 and describes an event where visitors can see yachts while connecting with people and businesses involved in yacht projects, from design and construction to brokerage and specialist services. That combination is central to its appeal: the vessels are on display alongside much of the professional ecosystem that designs, builds, equips, sells and supports them.
Why is the Monaco Yacht Show so famous?
A concentrated superyacht fleet
The organiser’s recap of the 23–26 September 2026 edition reports 118 superyachts at Port Hercule. It also puts the displayed fleet’s estimated value at €4.5 billion, attributing that estimate to BOATPro. This is an organiser-reported estimate for the 2026 fleet, not an independently verified valuation or a figure that should be treated as typical of every edition. More than a dockside display

It also names tenders, water toys, luxury cars, destinations, insurance, classification and legal services. For fans, this breadth puts the yachts in context; for industry visitors, it creates a meeting point for companies and specialists. MYS 2026 exhibitor announcement

Visitors can explore the yachts on display and encounter the companies and services that support them. The 2026 announcement also points to development and operational interests including propulsion systems, onboard energy management, emissions reduction, water treatment and digital technology. The organiser presents sustainability as a driver of development; that does not mean the show or the wider yachting industry has eliminated its environmental impacts. MYS 2026 exhibitor announcement

Not on the evidence available here. “Global mecca” is a fair editorial description of the event’s concentration of yachts, exhibitors and visitors in Monaco, but the organiser’s figures do not establish an independent worldwide ranking. The 2026 recap quotes Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, the show’s organiser, saying: “What this fleet offers a client exists nowhere else in the world.” That is the organiser’s promotional statement, not a comparative finding.
