What is the MONOCHROME Montre de Souscription 1?
Launched in 2021 as MONOCHROME’s first collaboration watch, the Montre de Souscription 1 was made with Austrian independent watchmaker Habring². The edition was limited to 33 pieces. MONOCHROME’s launch announcement described a subscription sale, a format that gives the model its name.
Its design draws on vintage chronographs without reproducing a specific historic model. The watch pairs a brushed stainless-steel case with a two-tone, galvanised dial in a salmon or rose-gold color. A sector layout, railroad-style minute tracks, Arabic numerals and a peripheral telemeter scale give the display its period character.
How does the dial and chronograph work?
The dial has two registers: small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock. There is no date display. The chronograph is a monopusher: one pusher controls start, stop and reset, rather than dividing those functions between multiple pushers.

The single-pusher layout gives the watch a simpler, more integrated appearance than a conventional multi-pusher chronograph. It also means the chronograph’s operations are handled in sequence from that one control.

The case has a stepped bezel, a double-sealed crown and a separate chronograph pusher. Its 38.5 mm diameter and 46 mm lug-to-lug measurement describe the case footprint; actual fit also depends on wrist shape and strap or bracelet choice.

What movement does it use?
Inside is Habring²’s A11C-H1, a manually wound monopusher chronograph calibre. MONOCHROME lists 180 components and 25 jewels, a 48-hour power reserve when fully wound, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).
The product description also specifies an anti-magnetic escapement, a Carl Haas hairspring, KIF shock protection and hand finishing. Those are manufacturer and product-page specifications, not independent performance-test results. MONOCHROME describes the movement as designed to be robust and straightforward to service and repair; that does not establish present-day service pricing, availability or coverage for an individual owner.

What was the original price, and is it still available?
The original launch price was EUR 5,950 excluding taxes. The 2021 subscription offer included a seven-row steel bracelet, free insured shipping and a three-year Habring² warranty; the launch terms also specified a non-refundable EUR 2,000 deposit, excluding taxes. The announcement said the subscription would run for up to two weeks or until all 33 watches had sold, with first deliveries expected in September 2021. These were launch terms, not a current offer.
The MONOCHROME Shop listing currently marks the watch “Sold Out.” No current resale price or secondary-market listing is established here, so EUR 5,950 should not be treated as a current market valuation.

What strap and bracelet were supplied?
The product listing describes a handmade taupe nubuck strap with cream stitching and a light-blue leather lining bearing the MONOCHROME name. It also specifies quick-release spring bars and a seven-row beads-of-rice steel bracelet. The listing does not establish the compatibility of unrelated replacement straps, so confirm the exact fit and spring-bar specifications before buying alternatives.
