The launch belongs to 2022: Jacob & Co. later said the launch event took place in Sicily in October of that year, and the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry published an article about the watch on November 10, 2022. Those sources establish the launch context, not a precise announcement date. Jacob & Co.’s retrospective and the Federation’s November 2022 article provide those dates.
How the musical mechanism and tourbillon work
A pusher at 10 o’clock activates the mechanism that plays the Godfather melody. The manufacturer describes two cylinders and two combs for the musical system. The watch also displays hours and minutes using a differential system and places a flying tourbillon on three rotating axes: the axes complete rotations in 24, 48, and 180 seconds, respectively. These mechanisms make the watch as much a kinetic, musical display as a conventional timekeeper.

Specifications and the component-count discrepancy are from the official Japan product page. The 658 figure is the number in its specification section; its narrative movement description instead says 654, so the page does not give a consistent count.

How it differs from the broader Opera Godfather collection
Jacob & Co. also lists a separate Opera Godfather model.
