The Montblanc Heritage Monopusher Chronograph, reference 119951, pairs a 42 mm stainless-steel case with an automatic chronograph movement and a single pusher built into the crown. It has a vintage-inspired dial detail rooted in timed telephone calls, but its size and movement are distinctly modern. Here are the specifications, what the monopusher does, and which claims should not be confused with Montblanc’s higher-end Minerva calibres.
What is the Montblanc Heritage Monopusher Chronograph?
Reference 119951 is a stainless-steel automatic chronograph with a 42 mm case. Montblanc retailer listings identify its movement as caliber MB 25.12. Fratello describes the MB 25.12 as based on the Sellita SW510, a useful distinction for readers comparing it with watches powered by Montblanc’s Minerva manufacture chronograph calibres.
Fratello’s hands-on account describes the watch as larger than its vintage styling might suggest and says the 42 mm diameter stood out on the reviewer’s wrist. That is one reviewer’s wearing impression, not a fit recommendation: wrist shape, preferred proportions, and the watch’s full dimensions all affect how it wears.

How the monopusher chronograph works
Instead of separate start, stop, and reset buttons, this watch has one chronograph pusher integrated into the crown. The retailer specification identifies a central seconds hand and a 30-minute counter. Wempe’s 2019 publication describes the crown-integrated control and the dial’s two symmetrical totalizers.
The single-control arrangement is the defining practical difference from a conventional two-pusher chronograph. When assessing a particular watch, try the pusher in person if possible: its feel and ease of operation are matters of ergonomics, and the available specifications do not establish how it will suit every wearer.

Why the minute counter marks 3, 6, and 9
The counter’s markings at 3, 6, and 9 minutes evoke the era when telephone calls were timed in short intervals. Wempe’s 2019 publication identifies these marks as a nod to timed telephone conversations. They are a historical design reference rather than a special timing scale that changes how the chronograph operates.
MB 25.12 is not the Minerva MB M16.29
The Heritage reference 119951 is listed with the automatic MB 25.12. It should not be conflated with Montblanc’s manually wound MB M16.29 manufacture movement. Montblanc’s official guide discusses the M16.29 alongside other Minerva calibres; its historical and construction details belong to that calibre family, not automatically to this Heritage model.

In that guide, Montblanc traces the 17.29 monopusher chronograph to 1929 and describes MB M16.29 as a later reworking of that historical design. The guide also attributes features such as a column wheel, horizontal coupling, V-shaped chronograph bridge, Minerva arrow, and hand-finished decoration to the M16.29 family. Those are not established specifications for the MB 25.12 in reference 119951.
This distinction matters when comparing monopusher watches: the shared one-button chronograph concept does not mean the watches share movement architecture, provenance, finishing, or service requirements.

What to check before buying one
- Fit: Try the 42 mm case on your wrist where possible. The hands-on impression reported by Fratello is individual, and a case diameter alone cannot predict comfort.
- Movement identity: Confirm that the watch is reference 119951 with MB 25.12; do not assume it contains the MB M16.29 manufacture calibre.
- Chronograph operation: Test the crown-integrated pusher and inspect whether the central seconds and 30-minute counter behave as expected.
- Condition and water resistance: Treat the listing’s 50 m figure as a product specification, not proof that a pre-owned watch remains water-resistant. Have condition assessed before relying on that protection.
- Strap fit: The listed lug width is 21 mm. Verify the watch’s attachment and the specific strap’s dimensions and fit before ordering.
- Price and availability: Check current local listings and the seller’s terms; retailer listings do not establish stock or a market-wide price.
- Service support: Ask about service options and parts support for the specific watch. Montblanc’s cited service guide covers separate calibres and does not establish a model-specific service interval or price for reference 119951.
How to compare it with another monopusher
Compare like with like rather than judging by the word “monopusher” alone. The useful points are movement architecture and provenance, case dimensions and thickness, dial legibility, pusher ergonomics, serviceability and parts support, and verified price and condition. The available model specifications establish several details for the 119951, but do not provide a complete, current competitor comparison or current market pricing.
