Which TEFNUT does the “hands-on” title refer to?
The title matches Monochrome’s independent hands-on coverage of an earlier rose-gold TEFNUT Silver-Plated by Friction. Moritz Grossmann’s 2023 press material describes an earlier configuration with a black-set, hand friction-silvered dial, 39 mm case, manual calibre 102.1 and 48-hour power reserve. These sources do not establish that every production run of the earlier model shared precisely the same specifications.
The manufacturer’s current product page is for a separate anniversary edition. Introduced on 29 April 2026 to mark 200 years since Moritz Grossmann’s birth, it is offered in yellow gold and white gold. Its green-set, engraved dial and anniversary details should not be read back into the rose-gold watch covered in the earlier hands-on article.

Moritz Grossmann describes grain, or silver-plating by friction, as a technique handed down from the 19th century. The brand says the process gives the dial a velvety, matte surface. For the 2026 anniversary edition specifically, the listed substrate is brass: it is engraved and set in green before being hand silver-plated by friction.
