Movano opened orders for its Evie smart ring on November 20, 2023, at $269, with no recurring subscription fee advertised. The women-focused ring tracks sleep, activity, heart and cycle-related wellness data. That launch is history, however: as of August 2026, Movano says new orders and shipments are paused, and its store lists the ring as out of stock.
What happened on November 20, 2023?
Movano announced that orders would open at noon Eastern on November 20, 2023, exclusively through EvieRing.com. The launch price was $269, and the company advertised the ring without a monthly subscription. Buyers could request a complimentary sizing kit; the initial range was U.S. sizes 5 through 12. Movano expected shipments before the end of 2023, but the first shipping announcement came on January 22, 2024. Movano’s order announcement and shipping update distinguish the order date from when customers began receiving rings.
What does Evie track?
Movano’s published feature set combines common wearable measurements with cycle and symptom logging. These are wellness estimates and tracking tools, not diagnoses.
- Resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), respiration rate and skin-temperature variability
- Sleep duration and stages
- Steps, active minutes, estimated calories, activity profiles and workout heart-rate zones
- Period and ovulation tracking, menstrual symptoms and mood
- Spot checks for selected live measurements, plus trend reports and personalized insights
Movano’s later regulatory filing says the original consumer Evie Ring launched as a general-wellness device without FDA premarket clearance. It must not be confused with the separate EvieMED Ring, for which Movano reported FDA 510(k) clearance in November 2024 for its pulse-oximetry feature. A ring reading should not replace medical evaluation or be treated as a contraceptive guarantee, particularly with irregular cycles, pregnancy or menopause. Movano’s filing describes the distinction.

How Evie’s design differs
Evie’s positioning was not simply “a smaller ring for women.” Movano described an open-form design intended to accommodate normal finger-size changes and swelling, and an app meant to present ranges and trends rather than reduce a person’s health to one readiness score. The app was also designed to relate sleep, activity, mood and cycle information.
Movano said its development drew on research into differences in women’s biomarkers and interviews with more than 1,000 women. Those are company-reported design inputs, not independent evidence that Evie is clinically superior. An open ring may be more forgiving for some changes in finger size, but fit and sensor contact still matter for comfort and readings. Movano’s product description explains its intended approach.
Hardware, battery and sizing
The ring was offered in gold, rose gold and silver, in sizes 5–12, with a charging case and cable. Movano’s published guidance puts typical battery life at about four days; the figure varies with temperature and use of features such as Spot Check and Activity Mode. Charging from roughly 10% to 90% takes about an hour, and the case can recharge the ring approximately 10 times under normal conditions. The company advises going to sleep with at least 25% charge to reduce the chance of losing overnight data. Movano’s hardware update and battery guidance give these qualifications.

Phone and regional compatibility
Evie’s support policy limits shipping and app availability to the United States. Android requires Android 12 or later; Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones are the families specifically named as preferred. Other Android devices may work, but Movano does not guarantee the experience. The product is also supported through the U.S. Apple App Store; the exact minimum iOS version is not established in the published details summarized here.

Is Evie a good choice?
Its original proposition may appeal to someone who wants cycle-related tracking, a women-focused presentation and no advertised monthly membership charge. The $269 price is not universally inexpensive, and the no-subscription claim does not promise that every future app service, repair or replacement will be free.
The immediate obstacle is availability: Movano’s order pause and out-of-stock listing mean Evie is not currently a straightforward purchase. If you are considering a used ring, note that Movano’s warranty is tied to the original retail purchase and ends if the ring is sold or transferred. Its policy describes a one-year limited warranty, with exclusions including batteries, normal wear, cosmetic damage and software-related issues in specified circumstances. The return policy allows one return within 60 days of receipt for refund or exchange; completing an exchange affects later return rights. Review the warranty, warranty FAQs and returns policy before relying on coverage.
