Mudra Link Is a Gesture-Controlled EMG Wristband, Not a Mind-Reading Device

Wearable Devices’ Mudra Link turns finger gestures into Bluetooth mouse and keyboard inputs. Here is what its “neural” sensing means, what it supports, and what to know before buying.

Mudra Link is a commercially available wristband that turns subtle finger gestures into Bluetooth mouse and keyboard inputs. Wearable Devices calls it a “neural” interface, but its descriptions point to non-invasive surface sensing of electrical signals associated with muscle and finger movement—not direct brain reading. The company’s U.S. store showed it at a promotional $249, down from a listed $299, when checked in August 2026.

What Mudra Link is—and when it launched

Mudra Link is a standalone input peripheral from Wearable Devices Ltd. It is designed to control compatible devices through finger gestures and hand or wrist movements, presenting itself as a Bluetooth Human Interface Device (HID), principally as a mouse and keyboard. It is not a smartwatch: the product page describes no display, cellular service, health-monitoring suite or independent app ecosystem. The product page and the company’s 2026 filing describe its intended role and compatibility.

  • September 9, 2024: Wearable Devices announced Mudra Link and opened preorders. The preorder announcement dates the launch.
  • January 6, 2025: The company announced general availability and demonstrated the product at CES 2025. Its announcement said shipments would begin by the end of January.
  • February 2025: The company’s later filing says regular sales and shipments began that month. The 2026 filing provides that retrospective timeline.

So “unveiled” describes the 2024 announcement, not a new 2026 product launch.

What “neural interface” means in this product

Wearable Devices markets Mudra Link as a neural wristband. Its launch description, however, says the system detects electromyography (EMG) signals associated with subtle finger movements. The product page describes three proprietary Surface Nerve Conductance (SNC) sensors. The cautious technical description is a non-invasive surface-signal or EMG-related gesture interface: it does not require surgery or electrodes implanted in the brain, and the cited product materials do not establish that it decodes thoughts independently of muscle and hand activity. The launch announcement and the company’s technical filing describe the sensing in terms of surface signals and movement.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The product combines those sensors with a six-degree-of-freedom inertial measurement unit (IMU), using accelerometer and gyroscope data to add motion and orientation context. It then classifies gestures and sends mapped commands over Bluetooth. The company does not publish enough information in the cited materials to independently establish gesture accuracy, latency, false-trigger rates or per-gesture performance; those qualities should not be inferred from the “neural” label.

What gestures and commands it can control

The company’s current marketing page advertises seven gestures for personalization. The Mudra Link app’s release notes describe controls including pinch, tap, pinch-and-drag, tap-and-drag and twist or double-twist-related actions, as well as scrolling and media-key mappings. Available gestures and mappings can change with app and firmware updates, so the current app is the best guide to the options on a specific setup. The product overview and the App Store release notes detail those functions.

  • Pointer control: Move a cursor for navigation and selection.
  • Clicking and dragging: Use gestures for selection, holding and dragging, where the host device accepts mouse input.
  • Scrolling: Map gestures to scroll through content.
  • Keyboard and media commands: Assign shortcuts or media keys such as play/pause and volume.
  • Custom mappings: Use Gesture Mapper to associate supported gestures with commands. The product page also describes pointer and D-pad modes; exact controls and workflow may depend on the current app version.

These are mouse- and keyboard-like inputs, not a guarantee that every application will interpret every mapping usefully. For sustained precision work—such as detailed photo editing, CAD or spreadsheet selection—a conventional mouse may remain easier to control.

Compatibility and setup requirements

Wearable Devices positions the band for Bluetooth HID-compatible hardware, including Windows and macOS computers, iPhone and iPad, Android devices, smart TVs, streaming devices and XR equipment. Initial setup requires the Mudra Link app on Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 14 and later, according to the manufacturer’s product page. The band is intended to operate after setup without the app continuously running; the app handles onboarding, customization and firmware updates.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“Bluetooth compatible” is not the same as guaranteed compatibility with every Bluetooth device or app. The target must accept the relevant Bluetooth HID input, and its software must make the mapped mouse, keyboard or media commands useful. Pairing successfully does not ensure identical behavior across operating systems.

  1. Charge the band and install the current Mudra Link app on a supported setup computer.
  2. Complete onboarding and learn the default gestures in the app.
  3. Pair the band with the target device using that device’s Bluetooth settings, then check that it accepts Bluetooth HID input.
  4. Test pointer movement, click, drag, scrolling and keyboard or media commands separately before changing mappings.
  5. Once the defaults work, configure custom mappings. If pairing or recognition remains unreliable, check the app for firmware updates and consult the Mudra support center.

Common causes of trouble include blocked Bluetooth permissions, a host that supports Bluetooth but not HID input, an unsupported setup operating system, a low or uncharged battery, inconsistent sensor contact or placement, and mappings that conflict with existing shortcuts or accessibility controls. A firmware or operating-system update can also change behavior. The exact recovery path depends on the host and current app version.

Specifications and what comes in the box

Specification Manufacturer-listed detail
Sensors Three SNC sensors and a six-degree-of-freedom accelerometer-and-gyroscope IMU
Connectivity Bluetooth Low Energy; Bluetooth HID input
Battery Up to eight hours of active use, according to the manufacturer
Charging Approximately 80 minutes for a full charge, according to the manufacturer
Dimensions and weight 22 mm wide; 10 mm thick including the strap; 36 g

In the box Mudra Link device, charging cable and user manual; no separate receiver is listed

Specifications and battery figures above are from the manufacturer’s product page; runtime is a maximum claim, not an independently measured result. IP56 should not be read as waterproof: it does not mean the band is suitable for swimming or showering.

Practical limits and accessibility considerations

A touchless wrist input could be useful for navigation, presentations, media control or XR setups where a mouse or touchscreen is awkward. It may also be worth exploring for someone who can make the supported gestures but finds direct contact or sustained mouse use uncomfortable. That possibility is not a promise of accessibility: usefulness depends on the individual and the task.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Can the wearer perform the supported gestures reliably and comfortably?
  • Do tremor or involuntary movements cause unwanted inputs?
  • Do wrist size, band placement and sensor contact allow consistent recognition?
  • Can the target device accept the required Bluetooth mouse or keyboard commands?
  • Can the user configure mappings independently, or will setup assistance be needed?
  • Does the task call for low-force or one-handed input, or for precise, sustained pointer control?

Try the actual gestures and target device before relying on the band for essential access. The advertised maximum of eight hours of active use also implies regular charging for many everyday routines.

Privacy: what the company says it collects

The company’s privacy policy, last updated September 9, 2024, says it may collect contact and order details, IP address, geolocation, device status and technical-use information, communications, analytics, and digital biopotential values from the sensors. It says sensor biofeedback is used internally to tune the gesture classifier and pressure regressor, and that data is stored on an aggregate basis for statistical, development and research purposes. The policy also discusses remote firmware updates and requests to delete personal information, subject to its stated limitations.

That policy is relevant to a device processing biosignals: buyers should review its terms rather than assume the band collects no sensor data. The cited materials present Mudra Link as a consumer and developer input device; they do not establish it as a medical, diagnostic or therapeutic device, or as a clinically validated brain-computer interface.

Price, returns and the Apple-focused alternative

On the manufacturer’s U.S. product page in August 2026, Mudra Link was listed at $299 with a promotional price of $249, a displayed 17% discount. The page advertised free U.S. shipping with a 5–8-business-day estimate, international shipping estimates of 7–14 business days, a one-year warranty and a 30-day money-back period. Prices, stock and delivery estimates can change. Check the current product listing before buying.

The 30-day return period has conditions: the buyer must contact support within 30 days of delivery, return the complete package in new or like-new condition, and may be responsible for return shipping and customs-related costs. See the refund policy for its terms.

For someone who uses Apple devices exclusively, the company also positions Mudra Band as an Apple-ecosystem wristband for iPhone, Mac, Apple TV, iPad and Apple Vision Pro. In its 2026 filing, Wearable Devices lists Mudra Band at $349 retail and $299 promotional, compared with Mudra Link at $299 retail and $249 promotional. Those are company-listed price points, which may change; the distinction is positioning, not proof that one will suit every Apple user better.

Who should consider Mudra Link?

  • Consider it if touchless pointer, scrolling, media or shortcut control would help in an XR, television, presentation or multi-device setup, and you can perform its gestures consistently.
  • Try it cautiously for accessibility if wrist gestures may be more workable than conventional input; assess comfort, false inputs and setup needs for the specific user.
  • Look elsewhere if you expect mind control, medical-grade reliability, swimming use, smartwatch features, guaranteed support for an obscure host, or a zero-setup experience.
  • Keep a conventional input option if your work depends on precise, sustained mouse control or if you need mature, predictable behavior across specialized software.

A standard Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, platform-native accessibility controls, voice input, XR hand tracking or a game controller may be a simpler fit when wrist-based gesture control is not essential.
