Is the Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster really rated to 1,000 m?
Nivada Grenchen specifies 100 ATM, equivalent to a stated 1,000 m rating, and lists an automatic helium escape valve. These are manufacturer specifications. The available reviewed material does not establish independent depth testing, so the rating should not be presented as an independently verified test result. A depth rating also does not, by itself, establish the suitability of a particular watch for every diving activity; follow the manufacturer’s use and maintenance guidance.
Movement: current listing versus the 2021 review
The current official product page names an automatic Soprod P024. Monochrome’s 18 October 2021 article instead lists a Sellita SW 200-1 with date. Those are different specifications from different source contexts, not details to combine into one movement description. In his 18 October 2021 hands-on article, Brice Goulard of Monochrome reported a 13 mm case height alongside the 39 mm diameter and 47 mm lug-to-lug. He described the watch as weighty, with a tight, robust-feeling crown and bezel. He also observed that the bezel’s luminous triangle stood out in low light more than the rest of its scale. These are the reviewer’s observations from that article, not measurements or testing of a current watch.
