The NOMOS Club Campus is a hand-wound mechanical watch offered in 36 mm and 38.5 mm sizes. The best fit depends on more than the number on the dial: lug-to-lug length can change how the watch sits across your wrist. For the current olive and rose versions, NOMOS lists the 36 mm full rose at €1,420 and the 38.5 mm all olive at €1,560; those are collection-page prices, so confirm the price and exact reference in your market before buying.
Which Club Campus size should you try?
Start with the exact reference and its lug-to-lug measurement, not case diameter alone. The current collection presents 36 mm and 38.5 mm options, but dimensions can vary by reference or update. NOMOS’s official page for Club Campus 38 ref. 737 gives a 46.7 mm lug-to-lug length; T3 reported 44.3 mm for its 36 mm sample and 48.9 mm for its 38.5 mm sample. Those figures describe different watches and sources, so they should not be treated as a single standardized size comparison. Check the specification for the reference you are considering. NOMOS ref. 737 specifications T3 hands-on review
36 mm
The smaller option is a sensible first one to try if you prefer a more compact watch or have a smaller wrist. In T3’s April 2026 hands-on review, the reviewer had smaller wrists and preferred the 36 mm sample. That is one wearer’s impression, not a universal sizing rule.
38.5 mm
Try the larger size if you want more wrist presence, but pay close attention to the lugs: T3’s reported 48.9 mm lug-to-lug measurement for its 38.5 mm example was longer than the 36 mm sample’s 44.3 mm. The official ref. 737 page lists a different 46.7 mm figure, reinforcing the need to confirm dimensions against the exact reference.

For regional context, T3’s April 5, 2026 review reported £1,420 / €1,420 / US$1,890 / AU$2,820 for the standard model and £1,560 / €1,560 / US$2,070 / AU$3,100 for the 38 mm model. What the design and movement are like
The Club Campus combines Arabic and Roman numerals on the dial. T3’s reviewer found the layout legible and liked the bright orange seconds hand. The review also describes the watches as slim, though that is a hands-on impression rather than an independent measurement claim.
NOMOS identifies the new olive and rose models as hand-wound watches using its DUW 4001 manufacture caliber. The collection page states a 53-hour power reserve, stop-seconds mechanism, regulation in six positions, Glashütte stopwork, and the NOMOS swing system. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. NOMOS Club Campus collection and movement details

Casebacks, lume, and water use vary by reference
Do not assume every Club Campus has the same caseback. NOMOS says the new olive and rose models have a stainless-steel back left free for engraving. By contrast, the fully specified Club Campus 38 ref. 737 has a sapphire crystal caseback. It also has a screwed stainless-steel case, domed sapphire crystal, 38.5 mm diameter, 8.5 mm height, and 46.7 mm lug-to-lug. Its listed strap is anthracite vegan velour remborde, with a 20 mm lug width. These details belong specifically to ref. 737 and should not be applied to other references. NOMOS Club Campus 38 ref. 737
Ref. 737 is rated to 10 atm, and NOMOS says it is suitable for swimming. Its blue Super-LumiNova numerals and hands are intended to glow in the dark; the seconds hand is neon orange. For other references, check the relevant product page and follow NOMOS’s current water-use guidance rather than assuming the same rating.

Is the NOMOS Club Campus a good first watch?
It may suit a first mechanical-watch buyer who wants a hand-wound watch, a distinctive numeral layout, and a choice of compact sizes. The trade-off is that you must wind it by hand rather than relying on an automatic rotor. NOMOS states a 53-hour power reserve for DUW 4001 on the collection page, but that figure is a specification, not a promise that every wearer will get exactly that duration in use.
Before choosing, compare the exact reference’s caseback, lug-to-lug length, strap width, water rating, and local price. Those details matter more to a practical purchase than treating “Club Campus 36” or “Club Campus 38.5” as complete descriptions.
