The two practical changes are a quick-set date and a power reserve of up to 52 hours, up from 42 hours in the DUW 4401 that the model previously used. The update also adds an ice-blue dial, reference 1121, on the same 37 mm stainless steel case. Price depends on market: NOMOS’s regional product page lists EUR 3,500 including VAT, and Hodinkee reported $4,500 on October 8, 2026.
What changed
NOMOS’s official launch page for the Metro ice blue describes three changes to the date power reserve:
- The movement is now the in-house, hand-wound DUW 4701 in place of the DUW 4401.
- The date can be set quickly, which the earlier version did not offer.
- The maximum power reserve rises from 42 hours to 52 hours.
NOMOS also says the white silver-plated Metro version will receive the DUW 4701. Hodinkee reports that reference 1101 keeps its reference number with the new caliber, and that the ice-blue and white references are both available at retailers.
The DUW 4701 movement
The DUW 4701 is manually wound. NOMOS gives its diameter as 32.1 mm and its height as 2.8 mm, with 23 jewels. The 52-hour figure is the maximum NOMOS states for the caliber. NOMOS also describes a redesigned three-quarter plate with a sunburst finish, and the swing system that the Metro date power reserve introduced in 2014 is visible through the case back.

The quick-set date is the change most owners will notice first. Hodinkee’s account of the older system is that the date had to be corrected by advancing the hands past midnight repeatedly when it was far off. That description comes from Hodinkee’s reporting. We have not tested either date-setting method ourselves. NOMOS’s published material does not walk through the new setting procedure, so consult the NOMOS user manual for the exact steps before relying on it.

The ice-blue reference is listed on NOMOS’s product page for the Metro date power reserve ice blue. The official specifications are below.

The 5 atm rating is a splash-proof specification. It does not make the watch a dive watch, and it should not be treated as one.

Hodinkee’s report also covers the ref. 1101 product page and the new ice-blue dial. The dial color is the main visual change, and the case dimensions are reported as the same across the two generations.

- United States (Hodinkee, October 8, 2026): $4,500 for the Metro Date Power Reserve references, reported as available now at NOMOS retailers.
Confirm the local price, taxes, and stock with an authorized NOMOS retailer before you buy, because both figures are time-sensitive.
Not the same as the Metro neomatik 41 Update
Hodinkee’s launch coverage also covers the Metro neomatik 41 Update, which receives an ice-blue treatment at $5,390. It is an automatic model, not a version of the hand-wound date power reserve described here, so do not treat the two as interchangeable.

Practical points before you buy
- The 18 mm lug width and quick-change spring bars make strap swaps straightforward, but the supplied strap is black Horween Shell Cordovan.
- The 8.0 mm case height and 43.6 mm lug-to-lug are the figures to check against your wrist before ordering.
- The 52-hour reserve is a maximum, and NOMOS does not state a reserve for partial wind-downs.
