The report gives no reference number, does not establish that the pictured watch is authentic, and does not confirm that Diamond paid the roughly Sh13 million figure in the headline.
What TNX Africa says the watch is
According to TNX Africa, the piece is a “rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked ‘Rainbow’ watch.” The article describes it as having 32 baguette-cut rainbow sapphires and an openworked dial that exposes two balance wheels. Those are the outlet’s descriptions of the photographed watch. They are not measurements or specifications checked against the manufacturer’s catalogue.
Two things are missing from the report. It does not give a reference number, which is the identifier that separates one Royal Oak variant from another. It also does not link to Diamond’s original social media post, so a reader cannot compare the photo or caption with the outlet’s version.
What the price figures mean
The headline’s Sh13 million is TNX Africa’s approximate retail figure for the model it names, equal to about $100,000 in the article’s conversion. It is an estimate of what the model sells for at retail, not a price Diamond paid and not a valuation of the watch he was photographed wearing.

The article also cites secondary-market figures. These describe resale prices for the same model family, and the report notes that they vary with the metal and with custom gem configurations. The table below keeps each figure tied to its own context.

Retail and resale figures describe different markets and may describe different configurations, so they should not be compared as if they were the same product at two prices. A reader who wants a price for the photographed watch would need a specific reference, a configuration, and a dated listing, and the report provides none of these.

What is not established
- Authenticity. Nothing in the report shows that a watchmaker, dealer or independent expert examined the pictured watch. The identification belongs to TNX Africa.
- Manufacturer confirmation. The report does not quote Audemars Piguet or any representative. Readers should not assume the brand has endorsed the model claim.
- The sighting itself. The report does not establish where or when the photograph was taken beyond its publication date.
- Diamond’s cost. The Sh13 million figure is the approximate retail value of the model as the outlet describes it.
Earlier allegations concern different watches
Diamond has been the subject of watch-authenticity claims before, but those reports concern Patek Philippe watches and do not bear on the 2026 claim.
The Standard, October 27, 2019
The Standard reported that Diamond had been accused of flaunting a fake Patek Philippe, and it stated that the original cost of that watch was Sh13 million. That figure belongs to a Patek Philippe item. It should not be read as an Audemars Piguet price, and it does not corroborate or contradict TNX Africa’s 2026 report.

The Citizen, January 13, 2023
The Citizen reported that Diamond had been called out over a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711. The article quoted a social media account it identified as Fake Watch Buster, which wrote: “@diamondplatnumz in our opinion that’s a fake Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711.” That was an opinion about a different watch, expressed in 2023, and should be attributed to the account as quoted by The Citizen.

- Look for a reference number. A model name alone can cover several variants with different materials and prices.
- Find the original post or photograph, and check whether the caption names the watch.
- Look for a statement from the brand or an independent authentication, and treat its absence as meaningful.
- Check whether any price is a retail estimate, a resale range, or a sale price, and whether a dated listing supports it.
- Keep allegations about different watches separate. A past dispute about a Patek Philippe says nothing about an Audemars Piguet photographed later.
On the current report, TNX Africa’s identification is a publication’s claim about a photographed watch. The approximate retail figure and the resale range are the outlet’s estimates for the model it names, and the article does not link them to a listing or to Diamond’s own purchase.
The reported Audemars Piguet identification may prove accurate, and the photograph may show a genuine Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked. But the report as published supports only the claim that the outlet identified it that way.
