What makes the Coupe des Alpes edition distinctive?
Ollech & Wajs says it created the special edition in partnership with Rallystory, inspired by the Coupe des Alpes, also known as the Alpine Rally. The brand describes the event as an 820-kilometre route across Alpine passes over three stages. Those route details and the edition’s historical framing are the manufacturer’s account, not independently verified rally-history findings.

The visual theme is expressed through Alpine-blue chronograph and timer hands, a blue-and-white rally strap option, and a black rotating bezel. The bezel combines a tachymetric scale with 11 markings that O&W describes as “perfect lap times.” The dial also carries seconds, a 30-minute timer and a 12-hour totalizer. WatchReport reviewer Don Evans noted the dial looked lighter in person than in the brand’s website images; that is his impression rather than a calibrated color comparison.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. The 300 m / 30 ATM rating should not be mistaken for evidence of a separately established dive-watch certification or independent water-resistance test. WatchReport reported that the chronograph pushers do not screw down, despite the stated rating.

How does it wear?
The 39.5 mm diameter sounds moderate, but WatchReport lists a 48 mm lug-to-lug length and describes the watch as wearing larger than the diameter implies. Its 15.3 mm thickness also gives it noticeable height on the wrist. Evans considered the case thick, while placing that impression in the context of an automatic chronograph movement and the 300 m rating. These are one reviewer’s fit observations, not a universal sizing verdict.
If possible, try it on before ordering, especially if you prefer slim watches or have a smaller wrist. Consider the lug-to-lug span, thickness and bracelet fit together rather than judging by diameter alone. The Calibrated Wrist also reviewed the model in August 2025, but comfort and appearance remain individual impressions.

What comes with it, and what should buyers know about operation?
O&W lists an M-Heritage mesh bracelet and a nylon strap as included. The official product page lists the blue-and-white rally strap option among the edition’s details, while the included-items statement specifically names the mesh bracelet and nylon strap; confirm the exact contents with the seller for your market. O&W advises having the stainless-steel bracelet sized by a competent watchmaker.

What is the production limit and motorsport story?
O&W states that production is limited to 56 watches each year. The brand says the number commemorates its founding year and the 56 two-person teams in the 1958 event. The annual limit is not a statement that only 56 watches will ever be made. The historical team count is attributable to O&W’s product-page account and was not independently corroborated in the sources available for this review.
How much does it cost, and where can you buy it?
At the time of the official product-page information reviewed, O&W listed the watch at 2,696 CHF, including the M-Heritage bracelet and nylon strap. The brand also stated that eligible worldwide FedEx shipments include taxes and customs duties, with exceptions, and that it was temporarily unable to sell directly to US customers, directing US buyers to authorized dealers. Prices, shipping terms and availability can change, so confirm the live official listing and local dealer terms before placing an order.

WatchReport listed $3,072 in its September 4, 2025 review. That is a historical review price, not a current US quote. The exact-model O&W page lists a three-year warranty; check the current terms for the purchase market. A January 2026 Japanese distributor release gives a two-year warranty for the broader Rallychron family in its Japanese-market context, which should not be substituted for the exact model’s current terms elsewhere.

Who should consider the Rallychron?
- Consider it if you want a mechanical automatic chronograph with a clear rally theme, substantial stated water resistance and both mesh and nylon wearing options.
- Try it on first if fit is a priority: the independent 48 mm lug-to-lug figure and 15.3 mm thickness suggest more wrist presence than the 39.5 mm diameter alone conveys.
- Check before purchase if you need a particular delivery market, warranty term or confirmed strap configuration; the seller’s current regional terms matter.
Useful comparison points against other chronographs are case thickness and lug-to-lug length, movement and servicing context, the bezel’s actual functions, included bracelet or strap options, water-resistance basis, production policy, warranty by market and current price.
