The watch described as the Speedmaster Enamel Dial 50th Anniversary is the 2007 Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Moonwatch, reference 311.33.42.50.01.001.001. Its black enamel dial, hand-wound caliber 3201 and substantial presentation set distinguish it from a standard sapphire Moonwatch. It is not the separate 2017 Speedy Tuesday Limited Edition.
Which watch is the 2007 enamel-dial anniversary edition?
Omega’s 2007 Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Moonwatch is the enamel-dial model at the center of this topic. Fratello identifies the stainless-steel version as reference 311.33.42.50.01.001.001 and describes it as a limited anniversary release. The long reference is useful when searching listings or checking paperwork, because “Speedy Tuesday” is also commonly associated with a different Speedmaster introduced ten years later.

Fratello’s 2020 account reports 1,957 stainless-steel examples, alongside 57 examples each in yellow, red and white gold. These are reported production figures, not a count of watches currently available or an indication of present-day market scarcity. Fratello’s 2020 article is the source for the edition details and specifications below.
What sets its dial and case apart?
The steel watch measures 42 mm across and 13 mm thick, according to Fratello. It has a black enamel dial, sapphire crystal and sapphire caseback. Its overall Moonwatch shape is familiar, but the enamel surface and vintage-style logo give the face a different character from a standard sapphire Moonwatch.

#1 Best Overall
- Model 310.32.42.50.01.001
Enamel is the defining visual distinction, while the vintage-style logo makes the dial treatment more than a simple material change. The sapphire caseback also gives the wearer a view of the movement rather than the closed back found on some Moonwatch variants. These details, together with the anniversary edition format, are more useful identifiers than the broad “Speedmaster” name alone.
What movement and water resistance does it have?
Fratello reports a hand-wound caliber 3201 with a column-wheel chronograph, Co-Axial escapement and chronometer certification. The article gives a 52-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. These are source-reported specifications; they are not independent test results, and an individual vintage watch’s present condition may affect its performance.
Rank #2
- Model 310.30.42.50.01.001
The hand-wound caliber is a notable point of separation from standard sapphire Moonwatch configurations. The stated 100 m water resistance is also higher than many readers may expect from a classic Moonwatch, but it should not be treated as a guarantee for a decades-old example. A buyer should have the seals and water resistance of the particular watch checked by a qualified watchmaker before exposing it to water.
How does it differ from a standard sapphire Moonwatch?
| Feature | 2007 50th Anniversary enamel model | Standard sapphire Moonwatch |
|---|---|---|
| Dial | Black enamel dial with vintage-style logo, as described by Fratello. | Not specified in the cited Fratello article as a single standard configuration. |
| Movement | Hand-wound caliber 3201, per Fratello. | Not specified in the cited Fratello article. |
| Water resistance | 100 m, per Fratello. | Not specified in the cited Fratello article. |
| Caseback | Sapphire caseback, per Fratello. | The article describes the anniversary model as broadly resembling a standard sapphire Moonwatch, but does not establish one standard caseback specification. |
| Edition format | Anniversary release; Fratello reports 1,957 steel examples and 57 per precious-metal color. | Not specified in the cited Fratello article. |
| Original presentation | Reported with a wooden box, tools, loupe, and additional strap with folding clasp. | Not specified in the cited Fratello article. |
The comparison is necessarily limited: “standard sapphire Moonwatch” covers configurations that the cited article does not specify individually. The useful takeaway is to check the precise reference and configuration rather than assume every standard sapphire model shares one set of specifications.

How is it different from the 2017 Speedy Tuesday?
The 2007 enamel-dial anniversary watch and the 2017 Speedy Tuesday Limited Edition are separate models. Omega identifies the 2017 watch as reference 311.32.42.30.01.001, a 42 mm discontinued edition inspired by the Alaska Project III. Omega reports that it was limited to 2,012 pieces and sold out in less than five hours. Those production and sellout figures apply only to the 2017 watch, not the 2007 enamel reference. See Omega’s page for the 2017 Speedy Tuesday and Omega’s separate account of that edition.
For clarity, use the year and reference together: the enamel-dial anniversary model is from 2007 and is reference 311.33.42.50.01.001.001; the Speedy Tuesday Limited Edition is from 2017 and is reference 311.32.42.30.01.001.
What came in the original presentation set?
Fratello describes a substantial set accompanying the anniversary watch. Reported contents include a wooden box, tools such as screwdrivers and a pin remover, a loupe, and an additional leather strap with folding clasp. For a collector, the completeness of this set may matter as much as the watch’s visible condition, so verify each item individually rather than relying on a listing’s “full set” label.

Fratello’s price discussion is from February 2020: it cited a used-market range of €6,200 to roughly €10,000, and approximately €7,300 to €10,000 for complete sets. Those are historical article-era estimates, not October 2026 asking prices or evidence of completed sales today. Current market value, supply and condition premiums are not established by those figures.
Quick Recap
- Match the reference on the watch and available documentation to 311.33.42.50.01.001.001; do not rely on “Speedy Tuesday” alone.
- Ask for clear photographs of the dial, case, caseback and movement, and confirm originality with a qualified specialist if details are uncertain.
- Request service records and have the movement’s condition assessed; source-reported specifications do not establish the condition of a particular example.
- Check the box, tools, loupe and extra strap against what the seller claims is included. Confirm whether any accessory is original to the set.
- Have water resistance tested before use in water, especially on a watch of this age.
