The OMEGA Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Team Alinghi is a sailing-themed Speedmaster with more than a commemorative logo: it pairs a black ceramic case and an openworked, specially decorated manual-winding movement with a four- and five-minute regatta countdown. Its reference is 311.92.44.30.01.002, and OMEGA lists it as discontinued. It is distinct from the Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon models.
What is the Omega Speedmaster Alinghi?
It is OMEGA’s Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Team Alinghi, a special edition created around the Swiss watchmaker’s sailing partnership with ALINGHI. OMEGA and ALINGHI formed that partnership in 2019; Swatch Group announced the watch on July 28, 2020, as a tribute to their collaboration. The announcement cited ALINGHI’s GC32 world title in June 2019, D35 Trophy win in September, and GC32 championship in November.

The exact reference is 311.92.44.30.01.002. That distinction matters when searching listings: the Team Alinghi watch is not the similarly named Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon, and it uses Calibre 1865 with ALINGHI-specific sailing details. OMEGA’s product page identifies the reference and marks it discontinued.
Why the Alinghi details are more than branding
A countdown built for a regatta start
The subdial at 3 o’clock displays a four- and five-minute countdown, a useful nod to the timed sequence before a sailing race begins. At 6 o’clock, the usual hand is replaced by a sandblasted, anodized aluminium disc that rotates with a red ALINGHI logo. The tachymeter scale is coated with Super-LumiNova, and the start/stop pushers carry varnished red ALINGHI logos, according to OMEGA.

Movement finishing inspired by a catamaran
Behind the open dial, OMEGA describes a manual-winding special version of Calibre 1861, designated Calibre 1865. Laser machining gives the main plate and barrel bridge a honeycomb pattern, while the remaining bridges have a black carbon pattern. OMEGA says the decoration was inspired by the hull of ALINGHI’s TF35 catamaran. The result makes the sailing connection visible through the movement as well as the dial.
OMEGA’s published specifications
These are the specifications published by OMEGA for reference 311.92.44.30.01.002, not independent measurements.

| Lug width | 21 mm |

At 44.25 mm across with a 49.80 mm lug-to-lug span, this is a substantial watch on paper. Those figures can help assess fit, but they do not establish how it will wear on a particular wrist. Its 5-bar rating is a published water-resistance specification, not a claim that it is designed for every water activity.

Is the Omega Speedmaster Alinghi discontinued?
Yes. OMEGA marks reference 311.92.44.30.01.002 as discontinued on its product page. That confirms the model’s listed status, but it does not establish how many were made, how scarce it is, or what it should cost today. Current resale stock, prices, and seller authenticity are not established by the available official sources.

The strongest case for the Team Alinghi is its unusually coherent concept: countdown function, red team accents, openworked dial, and catamaran-inspired movement finishing all point to the sailing partnership. It is not simply a standard Speedmaster with a logo added.
Rank #3
- Model 310.32.42.50.01.001
The trade-offs are equally specific. It is a large, 44.25 mm ceramic chronograph with a manual-winding movement, and its dedicated regatta countdown makes its identity more specialized than that of a conventional Speedmaster. Whether that is a draw depends on whether you value the Alinghi story and display-oriented movement more than a less thematic design. The discontinued status also means buyers should approach availability and condition as individual listing questions rather than assuming a reliable supply or a particular market value.
Launch context
In the Swatch Group’s July 28, 2020 announcement, OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann described the watch as a meeting of two Swiss brands’ interests in innovation and sailing, and said OMEGA used advanced technology, materials, and an original design concept to match ALINGHI’s boat creation. The announcement’s partnership history and early team results place the watch in a specific collaboration rather than a general sailing theme: Swatch Group launch announcement.
