OMEGA unveiled seven new Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon models on 14 October 2025, spanning four dial expressions. The update keeps the collection’s 44.25 mm case size while revising its ceramic construction, dial layers, proportions and straps. OMEGA Japan’s catalogue lists prices from ¥2,211,000 to ¥2,321,000 for the variants covered here; those are Japan-listed prices, not global pricing.
What changed in the 2025 collection
The 14 October 2025 announcement describes an evolution of the Dark Side and Grey Side of the Moon rather than a change in the collection’s recognizable 44.25 mm case size. OMEGA says the new watches have slimmer profiles, advanced ceramic construction and two-layer ceramic dials. Liquidmetal details feature on the bezels and crowns. These are brand-reported design details, not independent measurements of the watches’ performance. Swatch Group’s announcement introduces the seven new models across four distinctive dials.
The movement range includes a manual-winding Black Edition with calibre 9908, reworked and all-black models with calibre 9900, and an Apollo 8 model with calibre 3869. The announcement describes these pairings at collection level; it does not establish a movement for every catalogue reference listed below.

Its current catalogue view includes five Dark Side entries, one Apollo 8 entry and two Grey Side entries. That eight-entry count covers a broader catalogue selection; it is not the same scope as the seven models in the 2025 launch announcement.
Dial, movement and strap distinctions
The announcement groups the releases into four dial expressions. It highlights a slimmer manual-winding Black Edition with Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 9908, a reworked original-style Dark Side and an all-black version using calibre 9900, plus an Apollo 8-related model using calibre 3869. The catalogue references and strap options above identify listed variants, but the announcement does not map every movement to each reference, so check the individual product listing for a reference-specific specification.

OMEGA describes the straps as rubber or nylon, including nylon fabric with a rubber lining and rubber with a lunar-surface pattern on the reverse. The catalogue distinguishes rubber-strap and nylon-strap variants. A catalogue listing does not establish availability in a particular shop, nor does it verify aftermarket strap compatibility.

Why Apollo 8 is part of the story
The collection’s lunar framing connects to the Apollo 8 mission. Swatch Group’s announcement recounts Jim Lovell saying “we’ll see you on the other side” before the crew passed beyond radio contact. OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said the collection embodies the company’s pioneering spirit that guided it to the Moon, and described the new models as carrying that legacy forward. These are statements from the brand’s announcement, not independent assessments of the watches.
