The Omega Speedmaster Spacemaster Z-33 is a large, pilot-oriented quartz watch that pairs analogue hands with LCD displays and a suite of timing and calendar functions. This review covers the titanium-on-rubber version, reference 325.92.43.79.01.001. Omega’s published specifications describe what the watch offers; they do not establish how a particular example performs or feels in daily wear.

What is the Omega Spacemaster Z-33?

The Z-33 is a multifunction Speedmaster with a hybrid display: traditional hands sit alongside LCD windows for digital information. It is distinct from Omega’s similarly named X-33. The reference covered here, 325.92.43.79.01.001, has a titanium case and rubber strap.

Omega describes its calibre 5666 as a “Highly precise thermo-compensated multi-functional quartz movement with dedicated pilot functions developed in consultation with professional pilots.” That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent accuracy test or evidence about the performance of an individual watch.

What functions does the Omega Z-33 have?

Omega names time, UTC, chronograph, alarm, perpetual calendar and a function menu among the calibre 5666’s capabilities. Regional Omega product descriptions add dual time zones, a countdown timer and a pilot-oriented flight-recording feature. Omega Korea says the recording function can store up to ten flights.

  • Time and travel: time, UTC and two time zones.
  • Timing: chronograph and countdown timer.
  • Calendar and alerts: perpetual calendar and alarm.
  • Pilot-oriented record keeping: flight recording for up to ten flights, according to Omega Korea.

Feature naming confirms what Omega says the watch can do, but does not show how each function is operated or how easy it is to read in a particular setting. Consult the official instructions for operating details.

How large is the Z-33, and what does that mean for fit?

At 43 mm across, 53 mm lug-to-lug and 19.85 mm thick, the Z-33 has substantial dimensions for a wristwatch. The approximately 131 g listed weight and rubber strap are useful context, but measurements alone cannot establish comfort: wrist shape, strap fit and personal preference matter. Anyone considering one should compare its lug-to-lug span and thickness with a watch they already wear comfortably.

How long does the Omega Z-33 battery last?

Omega lists a CR2450N 3 V battery and estimates approximately 24 months of battery life. Treat that as the manufacturer’s estimate, not a guaranteed interval for every watch; the available specification does not report real-world results or the condition of a particular pre-owned example. The battery type is not an instruction to open the watch or replace it yourself. Check Omega’s official instructions or use qualified watch service for replacement guidance.

What does 3 bar water resistance mean?

Omega lists water resistance as 3 bar (30 m / 100 ft). That is the watch’s stated rating, not a general guarantee for every water activity. Do not infer a swimming or diving capability from the number alone; follow Omega’s guidance for the specific watch and have its water resistance assessed as appropriate, particularly on a used example.

Is the Omega Spacemaster Z-33 discontinued?

Availability statements depend on the market. Omega Korea says reference 325.92.43.79.01.001 is no longer available for purchase on that regional listing, while Omega Japan describes the model as discontinued. Those notices do not prove that every market or authorized dealer has no remaining stock. Check the relevant local Omega channel for current availability.

What to check when buying a pre-owned Z-33

No current price or specific seller inventory is established here, so judge an offer against live listings and the condition of the individual watch rather than an assumed market value. Confirm the exact reference, 325.92.43.79.01.001, and assess the watch as a complete, functioning unit.

  • Compare the reference and visible features with Omega’s product information.
  • Ask for clear images and a condition description covering the case, crystal, strap, buttons and displays.
  • Request service records, if available, and ask whether the functions and LCD windows have been checked.
  • Clarify what is included, such as box and papers, without treating accessories alone as proof of authenticity.
  • Review the seller’s return terms, authenticity policy and any warranty before paying.

Published specifications cannot establish the accuracy, battery condition, comfort, durability or authenticity of a specific used watch. Those require evidence about the individual example.
