OMEGA made 2,012 examples to mark the fifth anniversary of the Speedy Tuesday community, which began in 2012. Its reverse-panda dial, vintage-inspired details and hand-wound calibre 1861 set it apart from a standard Moonwatch.
What is the Speedy Tuesday Limited Edition?
Speedy Tuesday refers here to the first limited-edition Speedmaster, launched in 2017. The name comes from the #SpeedyTuesday community, which began in 2012; the 2,012-piece edition links its production number to that starting year. OMEGA described it as the first watch it marketed purely through social media and sold exclusively online at launch. OMEGA’s product record identifies the reference as discontinued.

How to identify its design
The watch combines a black dial with silver opaline subdials in a reverse-panda layout. Radial numerals on the subdials and the vintage-style OMEGA logo give the face a period character. The design draws on the Alaska Project III Speedmaster; the matte-finished steel case and tribute inscription on the caseback continue that theme. The 2017 launch account describes the inspiration and details.

What came in the original package?
The original set included a brown leather strap, a black-and-white NATO strap, a special storage/watch roll and a strap-changing tool, according to OMEGA and the launch account. Because used examples may no longer have every item, confirm the actual contents with the seller rather than assuming the full set is included.
Is the Speedy Tuesday still available?
OMEGA marks the reference discontinued, so it is not a current production model. Individual examples may appear through resale or auction channels, but a past catalogue entry does not establish present availability. Phillips documented one circa-2017 example, number 1778 of 2012, sold for HK$63,000; that result applies to that specific lot and is not a current market valuation. See the Phillips catalogue entry.

What should you check before buying one?
- Condition and originality: Inspect the case, dial, hands, movement and any replacement parts; ask for clear photographs and details of any work performed.
- Documentation and service history: Review the available warranty papers, service records and provenance, and check that details correspond to the watch being offered.
- Edition number: Confirm the individual number and its documentation; the Phillips example was numbered 1778 of 2012, but that is one documented watch, not a claim about another listing.
- Completeness: Check whether the leather strap, NATO strap, storage roll and changing tool are present, and assess their condition.
- Sale terms: Verify the seller’s return policy, warranty, shipping, taxes and any auction conditions before committing.
How should you interpret historical prices?
Fratello reported a launch retail price of CHF 5,400, excluding 8% Swiss sales tax, in 2017. Phillips recorded HK$63,000 for its specific auction lot. These figures are from different dates, currencies and sale contexts, and neither establishes today’s asking prices or a current market range. Compare any offers using the sale date, currency, condition, originality and included accessories.
