The OnePlus Watch 3 can last up to 16 days, but only in Power Saver mode. In the full Wear OS experience, OnePlus rates the original 46mm model for up to five days in Smart mode—or up to three days with heavy use. The watch launched in the U.S. and Canada on February 18, 2025, at a U.S. launch price of $329; those are historical launch details, not a statement of its current price. OnePlus’s launch announcement and its official specifications make the key distinction clear: 16 days is not the expected runtime for ordinary smartwatch use.
How long does the OnePlus Watch 3 battery last?
OnePlus advertises three different battery outcomes for the original, larger Watch 3. They depend on the mode and intensity of use, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable.

For the five-day Smart-mode estimate, OnePlus describes a controlled usage scenario involving notifications, sleep tracking, exercise, calls and screen activations. It is a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee for every wearer. Always-on display, frequent screen use, GPS workouts, calls, Wi-Fi, music, third-party apps, health monitoring and notification volume can all affect runtime. The mode-specific figures and test qualifications are listed in OnePlus’s specifications and on its U.S. product page.
Why can it last longer than many Wear OS watches?
The Watch 3 uses a dual-engine design. A Snapdragon W5 processor handles Wear OS workloads, while a BES2800BP low-power chip supports less demanding tasks through the watch’s hybrid Wear OS and RTOS architecture. That arrangement lets the watch operate in a lower-power mode when the full smartwatch environment is not needed; it does not mean that all Wear OS apps run unchanged in Power Saver mode.

Other design choices support endurance, including an LTPO AMOLED display, which can adjust its refresh behavior, and OnePlus’s Silicon NanoStack battery design. The watch has a 1.5-inch display, and its battery life reflects a combination of hardware, software and usage mode rather than a single unusually large battery claim. What changes in Power Saver mode?
Power Saver is the mode behind the 16-day maximum, not a way to keep every Smart-mode function running at the same level for longer. OnePlus describes it as a low-power mode with continuous monitoring, but its published material does not provide a complete feature-by-feature list of what remains available or is restricted.
Independent coverage characterizes the mode as a move away from full Wear OS operation, with some apps and smartwatch functions limited or unavailable. The exact behavior of individual features—such as Google Play apps, Assistant, Maps, Wallet, music controls, calls, notifications, health measurements and workouts—should not be assumed from the 16-day figure alone. If a particular function is essential, check the current OnePlus documentation or confirm it on the specific watch before relying on Power Saver for it. What are the original 46mm Watch 3’s main specifications?
The original model is a substantial watch. OnePlus specifies a case measuring approximately 46.6 × 47.6 × 11.75mm, excluding the sensor area; it weighs 49.7g without a strap and about 81g with one. Its size and weight are worth considering if you have a small wrist or want a discreet watch.
- Display: 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED, 466 × 466 resolution, up to 2,200 nits peak brightness, with sapphire crystal cover.
- Materials: Stainless-steel case and titanium bezel.

What health and fitness features does it offer?
OnePlus lists a 60-second Health Check-In, heart-rate tracking and high- or low-heart-rate alerts, blood-oxygen tracking, wrist-temperature sensing, sleep monitoring, sleep-quality and snoring-risk assessments, and vascular-health or arterial-stiffness insights. It also advertises more than 100 sports modes, including 11 professional sports modes, alongside dual-frequency GPS. Google Health Connect and Strava are supported.

How fast does it charge?
OnePlus says a 10-minute charge can provide up to one day of use. That is a company claim based on its charging test conditions, not a universal guarantee. Results vary with factors including ambient temperature, the adapter, battery level, software and how the watch is used. The claim appears on the OnePlus product page.

The Watch 3 is an Android watch, not an iPhone-compatible alternative. OnePlus lists a requirement of Android 9.0 or later and Google Mobile Services version 23.45.23 or later. Setup requires the OHealth app from Google Play; Android Go is not supported. Check the official compatibility requirements for the specific phone you plan to use.
Some controls are limited to compatible OnePlus and OPPO phones. OnePlus says camera control and short-video controls require a compatible device running OxygenOS 15 or ColorOS 15 and above. The watch’s Android compatibility does not mean every phone has every brand-specific integration.

How does it differ from the OnePlus Watch 2?
Compared with the Watch 2, OnePlus presented the Watch 3 with a longer advertised Smart-mode runtime, the addition of a BES2800 low-power chip, a larger LTPO display, a titanium bezel and sapphire crystal, more health-monitoring features including wrist temperature and vascular-health insights, dual-frequency GPS and faster charging. These are manufacturer-stated product differences, not independent measurements of every feature or battery result. The launch details are in OnePlus’s announcement.
Is the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm the same watch in a smaller size?
No: its battery estimates are materially lower. OnePlus rates the later 43mm model for up to 60 hours in Smart mode, up to 36 hours with heavy use, and up to seven days in Power Saver mode. Those figures are not equivalent to the original 46mm model’s five-day and 16-day maximums.

The 43mm model is the smaller, lighter option, with a smaller display; consult its separate official specifications rather than applying the original model’s battery claim to it.
What should buyers compare before choosing one?
Battery is only one part of the decision. Compare watches using normal smartwatch-mode endurance rather than a low-power maximum, then consider app access, phone compatibility, health features, GPS needs, case comfort, software support and the price available when you shop. Current street prices and software-update commitments are not established here, so verify them with the manufacturer and retailers before buying.
- Consider the original Watch 3 if you use Android, want Wear OS apps and Google services, value multi-day battery life, and are comfortable with a large 46mm-class case.
- Consider the 43mm version if fit and weight matter more, and you accept its lower battery ratings.
- Look elsewhere if you use an iPhone, want a small watch, require a medical device, or need a specific app or feature to work in Power Saver mode. Pixel and Galaxy watches may suit buyers prioritizing their respective Google or Samsung integrations, while Garmin or Huawei models may appeal to fitness-focused users who value endurance over the Wear OS app ecosystem. Compare exact models and compatibility before deciding.
For water exposure, OnePlus’s IP68 and 5ATM ratings do not mean the watch is suitable for hot showers, saunas, hot springs, deep diving or diving. OnePlus advises cleaning and drying it after seawater exposure and says liquid damage is not covered under warranty; consult its product guidance before using it in or around water.
