Xiaomi rates playback at up to 13 hours under specific laboratory conditions, and its Titanium version weighs 27.6g without lenses. The main buying question is not just whether those features appeal, but whether the app, warranty and lens-fitting support are available where you live.
What are the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses?
These are eyewear frames with built-in speakers in the temples. They send sound toward the ears while leaving the ear canals uncovered, so they can play music and podcasts, handle calls and notifications, and provide access to a voice assistant. Xiaomi also supports audio recording. The official feature list does not describe a display, camera or visual overlay, so these should not be confused with AR glasses.
Controls sit on touch bars on the temples. Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair and simultaneous connection to two devices are listed features; the Xiaomi Glasses app handles settings and several of the product’s less basic functions. What does the 13-hour battery claim mean?
Xiaomi’s “up to 13 hours” is a continuous-listening maximum measured from a full charge at 50% volume using AAC encoding. It is a manufacturer laboratory figure, not a guarantee for mixed daily use. Higher volume, frequent calls or recording, Bluetooth conditions, temperature and battery age can all affect runtime.

Charging is magnetic, so check that the correct charging accessory is included and keep it available; this is not a standard cable connection at the glasses. The cited battery and charging figures are Xiaomi’s own specifications, not independent endurance results.
What is different about the Titanium model?
The Titanium frame is the range’s lightest option at 27.6g without lenses. Xiaomi describes it as a unibody β-titanium design with a rimless, floating-frame appearance. Titanium applies to this model only; the other Mijia styles should not be assumed to use the same material.
The light weight comes with practical restrictions. Titanium requires rimless lenses and does not support interchangeable temples or Xiaomi’s quick-release frame system. Xiaomi advises buyers to tell their optician the required lens installation angle; an incorrect fit may cause discomfort. Confirm that an optician can supply and fit suitable lenses before ordering, especially if buying from another country.
What features go beyond listening to music?
Calls and microphones
Xiaomi lists four microphones and claims wind-noise reduction in winds up to 4.5m/s. That figure is a Xiaomi claim, not an independent assessment of call quality in every condition. Microphone count and a wind-reduction specification do not by themselves establish how clearly a caller will hear you in a busy street.

Recording
The glasses can record surrounding sound, calls, audio or video playback, and online meetings. Xiaomi says recording can be started without unlocking the phone after the function has been enabled, and an indicator light turns on while recording. Recording requires the Xiaomi Glasses app; Xiaomi says recordings are managed and accessed in that app rather than as ordinary standalone audio files.
Recording capability is not permission to record. Follow local consent and privacy laws, particularly for calls and meetings, and do not treat the glasses as a covert or automatically suitable tool for confidential conversations.
App, controls and voice assistant
The Xiaomi Glasses app provides recording management, connected-device management, gesture customization, read-aloud notifications, a find-glasses function and privacy-mode controls. Xiaomi says the app is needed to enable recording and privacy mode. To launch a voice assistant with a touch gesture, assign that gesture in the app. App screens and functions can change with software updates, and regional app access should be verified before buying.
Xiaomi describes customizable touch gestures, including double-tap playback control and notification muting. The exact controls can depend on the assigned gesture and current app version, so do not assume a fixed menu path or identical setup across regions.

Two devices and quick pairing
Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair and simultaneous dual-device connection are listed. Keeping, for example, a phone and laptop connected can be useful, but Xiaomi’s description of seamless switching should not be read as a guarantee of the same automatic handoff behavior offered by every phone or computer ecosystem.
How does open-ear audio trade off against earbuds?
The central benefit is that your ears remain uncovered. You can hear more of your surroundings than with sealed earbuds, and there is no ear-canal fit or pressure to manage. That can suit walking, commuting and casual office listening, though it does not make the glasses a substitute for situational awareness or safe listening practices.
Open-ear sound also has inherent limits: there is no sealed ear canal to isolate noise, bass and immersion may be less pronounced than with earbuds, and sound can leak to people nearby—especially at higher volume. A loud environment may tempt you to turn the volume up, which can worsen leakage and listening exposure.
Xiaomi advertises an updated acoustic structure, boosted volume and a privacy mode using a reverse sound field and leak-reduction membrane. The company describes privacy mode as reducing leakage, not eliminating it. It is not sound isolation or a guarantee that nearby people cannot hear your audio.

Xiaomi identifies Pilot-Style and Browline as supporting interchangeable temples and the quick-release frame system; Titanium does not. The product page describes blue-light-blocking lenses for Titanium and Browline, while Pilot-Style is specified with polarized lenses. Treat those as distinct lens claims, not interchangeable health or protection guarantees.
How does the newer Mijia model differ from Xiaomi Smart Audio Glasses?
The similar names can cause confusion. Xiaomi’s comparison presents the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses as a newer model with longer rated playback, more microphones and additional features than the older Xiaomi Smart Audio Glasses.

The glasses are rated IP54 under Xiaomi’s stated test conditions. That indicates dust resistance and protection against splashes, not waterproofing. Ordinary sweat or light rain is a more appropriate expectation than swimming, showering, water sports or underwater use. Xiaomi warns that water damage and damage from external or accidental causes may not be covered by warranty.

Xiaomi also cites internal-lab durability figures for flexing and plug-and-pull tests. Those are manufacturer test claims, not independent certification or a promise that a frame will withstand every real-world impact or repeated misuse.
Can you buy and use them in the United States?
Xiaomi publishes a global product page and a regional product directory, but the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses are not clearly presented as a standard U.S. retail product on Xiaomi’s U.S. website. That does not prove a U.S. buyer cannot find an imported unit; it means an import should not be mistaken for confirmed official U.S. sales or support. Xiaomi’s regional smart-glasses directory and product page are useful starting points, but availability varies by market.
Before importing, verify each of these with the seller or Xiaomi for your country:
- Whether the Xiaomi Glasses app is available and supports the functions you need.
- Who provides the warranty, what it covers and where returns must be shipped.
- Whether replacement parts and the magnetic charger can be obtained locally.
- Whether an optician can fit the chosen frame, particularly the Titanium model’s rimless lenses.
- Whether the listing is the newer Mijia model rather than the similarly named older glasses.
Do not infer a local price, stock status or warranty from Xiaomi’s global specification page.
Should you choose these or Ray-Ban Meta?
They serve different priorities rather than being direct substitutes. Xiaomi’s appeal is open-ear audio, a no-camera design and a higher manufacturer-rated continuous playback figure. Ray-Ban Meta is the more relevant direction if cameras, AI features, capture functions and official U.S. retail support matter more.

Its feature page lists up to five hours of continuous audio for the displayed product family, substantially below Xiaomi’s claimed playback maximum.
