Its salt-marsh-inspired green-to-blue dial and circular date display distinguish it from the original Dat Watt, which used a tide and lunar-cycle display. The model was presented as part of Oris’s collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS); the available launch coverage does not establish a donation amount per watch or a quantified conservation result.
What is the Oris Aquis Dat Watt Limited Edition II?
It is a limited-edition Aquis diver made by Oris in association with the Wadden Sea conservation organization CWSS. The exact reference is 01 743 7734 4197-Set. Oris’s catalog includes a product entry, but a catalog listing does not confirm current stock or retail availability: Oris catalog.
Specialist launch coverage describes the watch as a stainless-steel Aquis with a tungsten bezel insert, a green-to-blue gradient dial, applied luminous indices, small seconds and a circular date indication. The set was reported to include a steel bracelet and an additional blue rubber strap. These are published specifications, not results from independent wear or dive testing. Fratello’s launch report

How is it different from the first Dat Watt?
The clearest distinction is the display and the idea behind the dial. The original Dat Watt used a tide and lunar-cycle display, while Limited Edition II replaces that focus with a circular date indication. Its green-to-blue dial draws on the colors of Wadden Sea salt marshes, rather than repeating the first model’s tide-oriented presentation. Fratello describes the predecessor’s tidal calculator and the second edition’s design shift; the two editions should not be confused as having the same complication.
Why is the edition limited to 2,009 watches?
Fratello’s 2023 launch coverage says the 2,009-piece limit refers to 2009, the year the Wadden Sea received UNESCO World Heritage status. That rationale is attributed to the launch report, rather than independently verified here against UNESCO documentation. The number identifies the edition size; it is not a conservation-impact figure.
What is the watch’s connection to Wadden Sea conservation?
Oris presented the watch as part of its collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat, a trilateral organization concerned with protecting and conserving the Wadden Sea. Jura Watches reported that Oris extended its collaboration with CWSS through the end of 2025. That is a historical end date, not confirmation that the partnership continues today.
Neither the cited launch coverage nor the catalog listing establishes a donation per watch, an amount raised, or a measurable ecological outcome attributable to sales of this edition. Oris co-CEO Rolf Studer, quoted in Fratello’s August 14, 2023 article, described the collaboration as support for conservation and sustainability; that was a launch-era statement, not a current update. Price and availability
Fratello reported a launch price of €2,900 in August 2023. That historical figure should not be treated as today’s price: current asking prices and availability can vary by country, seller, condition and whether a watch is new or pre-owned. The Oris catalog entry confirms the model is listed in the catalog, not that it is in stock. When checking a listing, match the full reference, 01 743 7734 4197-Set, and verify the seller, included bracelet and strap, condition and regional price.
