The IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Lake Tahoe (IW328104) and Mojave Desert (IW328106) are separate 41 mm watches in colored ceramic—not simply the same watch with different straps. Lake Tahoe pairs a white case with a high-contrast look; Mojave Desert combines sand-colored ceramic with brown and beige details. IWC’s published specifications in the material available here are more complete for Mojave Desert, so the comparison below distinguishes confirmed differences from details not established for Lake Tahoe.

What changes between the two editions?
Lake Tahoe: white ceramic and a winter reference
Lake Tahoe’s defining feature is its white ceramic case. IWC frames the color around the snowy landscape near Lake Tahoe and the nearby SFTI training context. The result is the more visually contrasting choice of the pair: a bright case rather than a subdued, earth-toned one. The reference for this 41 mm edition is IW328104.
Mojave Desert: sand, brown, and beige
Mojave Desert uses sand-colored ceramic, with a brown dial and beige rubber strap finished with a textile insert. IWC links the color palette to Navy pilots’ flight suits and the landscape around Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. Its reference is IW328106. IWC announced the Automatic 41 Mojave Desert on 2 June 2025 as an extension of its “Colors of TOP GUN” collection; the date is given in the IWC press archive.
What the confirmed Mojave Desert specifications mean
IWC lists the Mojave Desert IW328106 at 41 mm in diameter and 11.4 mm thick, with 10 bar water resistance. It is powered by calibre 32112 and has a stated 120-hour power reserve. These figures describe this reference as published by IWC; they should not be assumed to establish the corresponding Lake Tahoe specifications.

A 120-hour reserve is five days of running time when fully wound, according to the stated capacity. That can be useful if you rotate watches over a few days, though actual running time depends on the watch being sufficiently wound and operating as intended.
How IWC describes its colored ceramic
IWC describes ceramic as hard, lighter than steel, scratch-resistant, and velvety to the touch. Those are the manufacturer’s material claims, not results from independent comparative testing. The company also explains that ceramic cases shrink by about one third during firing, so the case has to be designed with that change in mind. This manufacturing constraint helps explain why producing a particular ceramic color and case shape is more involved than applying a surface color to a conventional case.

Which color should you choose?
- Choose Lake Tahoe if you prefer a white case and a brighter, more conspicuous contrast. Its reference is IW328104.
- Choose Mojave Desert if you prefer a coordinated sand, brown, and beige palette. Its reference is IW328106, and IWC publishes the movement, reserve, thickness, and water-resistance figures listed above for this edition.
- Compare fit and price locally before deciding: the cited material does not establish Lake Tahoe’s full specification set or either edition’s current price in every market. The Mojave price shown is specific to IWC’s EU/Italy page.
What to verify before buying
- Match the reference number—IW328104 for Lake Tahoe or IW328106 for Mojave Desert—to the exact watch listing, since other TOP GUN models may use similar color names.
- Ask an IWC boutique or authorized retailer for any Lake Tahoe specification not shown in the available cited material, including its movement, power reserve, thickness, and water resistance.
- Check local availability and current regional pricing directly with IWC or an authorized seller; a price displayed for Italy is not a global quote.
- If considering another strap for Mojave Desert, confirm compatibility with reference IW328106 through IWC or an authorized retailer rather than assuming that a strap for another 41 mm Pilot’s Watch will fit.
