The Oris Artelier Calibre 111 pairs a hand-wound in-house movement with a 240-hour (10-day) power reserve, a date display and a 43 mm steel case. Its unusual reserve is the main attraction, but it does not make the watch automatic: you still wind it by hand. The size, dress-oriented design and reference-specific price and availability are the key considerations for deciding whether it suits you.
What the Oris Artelier Calibre 111 is
Calibre 111 is Oris’s manual-winding movement, introduced in 2015 after the Calibre 110 debuted in 2014 for the brand’s 110th anniversary. The movement’s long reserve and single-barrel architecture marked Oris’s return to developing movements from the ground up, according to the GPHG’s Calibre 111 record. The 2016 hands-on review described the 111 as based on the 110 design, with a date aperture added.
The specifications below refer to the blue-dial steel Artelier listing for reference 01 111 7700 4065-Set 1 23 87FC. Oris offers other variants, whose materials or details may differ.
How the 10-day power reserve works
Oris specifies 240 hours of power reserve: up to 10 days of running after the watch has been fully wound. A long reserve can mean fewer winding sessions than a shorter-reserve manual watch, but it does not remove the winding routine. The movement is hand-wound, not automatic.

A non-linear power-reserve indicator at 3 o’clock shows the remaining reserve. Because the scale is non-linear, its movement should not be read as a uniform measure of elapsed time. The movement also has stop-seconds and a fine timing device, according to Oris’s product listing.
Dial and case: useful details and trade-offs
- Displays: date, subsidiary seconds at 9 o’clock and the reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.
- Case: 43 mm multi-piece stainless steel, with a 23 mm interhorn width.
- Crystal and back: domed sapphire crystal on both sides with internal anti-reflective coating; screwed see-through sapphire case back.
- Water resistance: 3 bar, as listed by Oris. This is a modest rating, so the watch is best treated as a dress-oriented piece rather than a choice for swimming or water sports.
- Movement: 34 mm (15 lignes) in diameter, running at 21,600 A/h (3 Hz).
- Dial and strap: the listed reference has a blue dial and leather strap.
The review’s large “10 days” dial messaging puts the reserve front and center. That visual emphasis is part of the watch’s character, though it may appeal less to someone seeking a particularly restrained dress dial.
Fit and everyday wear
At 43 mm, this is a substantial dress-oriented watch. One reviewer in a 2016 hands-on review reported that the case felt comfortable on his wrist; that is one wearer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for another wrist. If possible, try the exact reference on: diameter alone does not settle how a watch will wear.
The long reserve is most compelling if you like a manual-winding watch but do not want to wind it every day. If you prefer a watch that keeps itself wound while worn, the Calibre 111’s reserve does not change the fact that it is hand-wound.

Oris’s regional listing shows CHF 6,100 for reference 01 111 7700 4065-Set 1 23 87FC and marks it unavailable to buy online on that page, directing visitors toward stores. That is a regional listing, not a worldwide stock statement; check with Oris or a local retailer for current availability.

Before buying, confirm the precise reference, whether the watch is new or pre-owned, included warranty, return terms and the seller’s current regional price. Availability can change, and the listing for one variant should not be assumed to describe all Calibre 111 models.
Who should consider the Calibre 111?
- A good fit if: you value a long power reserve in a mechanical watch, enjoy winding by hand and want the reserve indicator to be a prominent part of the dial.
