Its vintage-inspired appearance belongs to the broader Divers Sixty-Five family, but specifications vary by size and reference. In particular, do not assume the newer collection’s upgrades apply to this older 42 mm watch.
How does the 42 mm watch wear?
The reviewer describes the 42 mm case as relatively restrained on the wrist. That is one person’s wearing impression, not a guarantee of fit: wrist shape, strap choice and personal preference all affect how a watch feels and looks.

The same hands-on report praises the silver sunburst dial. It also notes two visual drawbacks: the hands and dial markers can appear to have slightly different lume tones under changing light, and the trapezoidal date window at 3 o’clock can make the dial feel unbalanced against the index at 9 o’clock.

How is it different from other Divers Sixty-Five models?
Case size alone does not tell the full story across the collection. The older 42 mm reference discussed here has a 3 o’clock date, a cited 38-hour power reserve and an aluminum bezel insert. Dive Into Watches’ 2025 overview describes 38, 39 and 40 mm variants as well as 2024 updates that include 200 m water resistance, ceramic bezels and quick-change straps. Those later features are not specifications of this 42 mm reference.
For a useful comparison, check the exact reference number rather than relying on the Divers Sixty-Five name alone. Compare case diameter and wrist presence, date position and dial layout, movement and power reserve, water resistance, bezel material, strap options and whether the specific watch is currently available.

Measurements from other sizes should not be carried over. For example, Fratello’s Sunset Brown model is a different 40 mm reference, with 20 mm lugs, 48 mm lug-to-lug and 100 m water resistance: Fratello’s 40 mm model coverage.

The prices reported for this watch are historical, not current offers. Dive Into Watches quoted CHF 2,000 / EUR 2,000 for the reviewed Tropic-strap configuration in 2025. Hodinkee reported a 2017 price of $1,900 on rubber or leather, with a $400 premium for the bracelet, for a silver-dial configuration: Hodinkee’s 2017 coverage.

Dive Into Watches reported in 2025 that this exact reference was no longer listed online by Oris, though individual dealers might still have examples. Current stock and market pricing have not been verified. If you find a listing, confirm the full reference, seller, condition and present availability; do not treat an old price as a guide to today’s asking price.
The 21 mm lug width can help when searching for a replacement strap, but it does not by itself prove that a particular strap will fit. Check the listing’s width and attachment details before ordering.
