What is the Panerai PAM01405?
Panerai identifies PAM01405 as the Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition, a limited-edition watch and part of its Experience collection. The model combines the Submersible’s robust case and rotating bezel with a complicated mechanical movement. The official Panerai PAM01405 product listing does not state an exact production quantity, current price or inventory.
Panerai presented it in 2024 as the first 45 mm Submersible powered by its P.2015/T calibre. The case material and Luna Rossa details connect the watch to the team; the tourbillon and time-zone functions distinguish it mechanically from a straightforward dive-style watch.
Case, bezel and water resistance
The case measures 45 mm and is made of Carbotech, a composite material Panerai associates with material used on the Luna Rossa boat. Panerai says Carbotech is 80% lighter than steel; that is the manufacturer’s comparison, not an independent measurement. The case has a titanium DLC anti-clockwise rotating bezel with a graduated scale and numerals.

Panerai rates the watch to 30 bar, approximately 300 metres. This is the brand’s stated water-resistance rating, not a recommendation to dive with a high-value mechanical watch. The screwed caseback uses titanium DLC and a see-through sapphire crystal.
What movement and functions does PAM01405 have?
The hand-wound mechanical P.2015/T is 15 1/3 lignes in diameter and 7.88 mm thick. Panerai lists 27 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, an Incabloc anti-shock device, two barrels and 256 components. Its stated power reserve is four days.

Functions listed by Panerai include hours, minutes, small seconds, power-reserve indication, a second time zone, world time and a tourbillon. The world-time and second-time-zone functions are useful for tracking time elsewhere, while the tourbillon is a prominent mechanical complication rather than a feature required for ordinary timekeeping.
How Panerai describes the tourbillon
Panerai says the tourbillon cage rotates on an axis perpendicular to the balance-wheel axis and completes one rotation every 30 seconds. The brand describes this arrangement as patented. These details explain the mechanism’s unusual orientation and speed; they are Panerai’s description of its calibre.

What did the Luna Rossa Experience include?
The “Experience Edition” label refers to a specific past owner event, not an ongoing entitlement. In its 2024 launch material, Panerai described an exclusive America’s Cup finals experience in Barcelona, including behind-the-scenes and front-row access with Luna Rossa. Panerai’s later Experiences page says 20 owners joined the Luna Rossa Experience in Barcelona in September 2024 and describes privileged access to the race with the team.
Because that event took place in September 2024, buying a PAM01405 now should not be understood to include access to it. The official product page calls the watch limited edition, but Panerai’s general statement that Experience editions are made in no more than 50 pieces does not establish this model’s exact production count.

Straps and practical ownership details
Panerai lists a grey Luna Rossa bi-material strap in size 24/22 and a black rubber secondary strap as included. The product page also shows other rubber straps for purchase, but compatibility should be checked against the exact reference and fitting before buying an alternative.
The 45 mm case and specialized movement make PAM01405 a substantial, technically elaborate watch rather than a discreet everyday option. Buyers weighing it against other Luna Rossa Submersible references should compare each model’s case size and material, movement and complications, water-resistance rating, strap setup, edition details and whether any associated event is current or historical. The shared Luna Rossa name alone does not establish that the models have equivalent specifications.
