What is new about the Verzasca edition?
The distinction is its green dial, not a newly introduced GMT mechanism. Parmigiani says the Verzasca shade takes inspiration from the crystal waters of Switzerland’s Verzasca Valley. The dial has hand-guilloché Grain d’Orge finishing, paired with the Tonda PF’s restrained styling.
Parmigiani describes the original Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante complication as a 2022 “world-first.” That is the manufacturer’s characterization; it is not an independently adjudicated history of GMT watchmaking. Parmigiani’s launch material calls it “a refined world-first combining discreet complexity with immediate user-friendliness.”
How does the split-hour GMT work?
The usual local-time hour hand stays in place. Pressing the control separates a second hour hand so it can indicate a reference time, such as home time; pressing again reunites the hands, leaving the extra hand out of view. That is Parmigiani’s description of the mechanism. It offers a way to consult another hour without keeping a conventional extra GMT hand visibly displayed all the time.

This is an hour indication, not a complete second-time-zone display: the published description concerns a second hour hand, and does not establish a separately adjustable minute hand for the other zone. The mechanism should not be assumed to be easier or more accurate than other GMT systems without comparative evidence. Warranty and availability
Parmigiani states that its International Sales Warranty covers manufacturing defects for three years. The brand says an additional two-year extension may be available after account creation and registration, subject to eligibility and conditions. Check the current terms with Parmigiani before relying on an extension.
