How does the minute repeater work?
The self-winding R 27 PS caliber chimes the time on two cathedral gongs. Patek Philippe describes the gongs as ensuring “a particularly rich, deep sound.” That is the manufacturer’s characterization, not an independent listening test or a measured acoustic result. The movement also displays small seconds.
