What is the Patek Philippe 5320G?
The 5320G is a Grand Complications wristwatch built around a perpetual calendar. Patek Philippe’s current listing is specifically for the 5320G-011. It combines a white-gold case with a rose-gilt opaline dial, charcoal-gray hands, and applied white-gold hour markers with white luminescent coating. The case has three-tier lugs, a polished monobloc construction, and a convex box-style sapphire crystal.
The display prioritizes a clear reading of the calendar: day and month appear in twin apertures at 12 o’clock, while the date is indicated by a hand around the moon-phase aperture at 6 o’clock. Leap-year and day/night indications are also shown in apertures. The remaining functions include moon phases and sweep seconds.

How does the 5320G perpetual calendar work?
A perpetual calendar mechanically tracks month lengths and leap years. While the watch continues running, its calendar can progress for decades without routine date correction. That is the practical advantage over a simpler calendar: the mechanism accounts for February’s shorter length and the leap-year cycle rather than requiring a correction every year.
It is not maintenance-free in every circumstance. The Gregorian calendar treats century years that are not divisible by 400 as common years. The next such exception is 2100; Patek Philippe says the calendar will need a manual correction between February 28 and March 1 that year. See the manufacturer’s perpetual-calendar explanation.

Perpetual versus annual calendar
Patek Philippe’s annual calendar handles months of 30 and 31 days, but needs one correction at the end of February each year. The 5320G’s perpetual calendar additionally accounts for leap years while it keeps running. These are different levels of calendar complication, not interchangeable labels.
How does the 5320G-011 differ from the 5320G-001?
The 5320G-001 was the original version introduced in 2017. Its cream dial and caliber 324 S Q distinguish it from today’s rose-opaline 5320G-011, which uses caliber 26-330 S Q. Phillips reports that the 001 was discontinued in 2022 and replaced by the 011. Patek Philippe described the original design as drawing inspiration from earlier models: “The Ref. 5320G Perpetual Calendar has been inspired by many predecessor models that attracted global attention in the 1940s and 1950s.”

Phillips reported an approximate US$94,624 list-price estimate for the 011 in its editorial, and an average public auction price of approximately US$73,873 for eight 5320G-001 examples through January 2024.
