Breguet’s 2025 Classique Souscription, reference 2025BH/28/9W6, takes a more unusual approach, with one hand, a white grand feu enamel dial, and a stated 96-hour power reserve. Both are manually wound, but they are not direct equivalents in display or price disclosure. “Calatrava” is a collection, so this comparison uses the 6119G-001 rather than treating one model’s specifications as representative of every Calatrava.

How the dial changes the experience
Calatrava 6119G: familiar time-reading, with a textured bezel
The 6119G shows hours and minutes in the conventional way and adds a small-seconds display. Its Clous de Paris guilloché bezel supplies a distinctive texture without changing the basic, legible layout. If you want a dress watch that reads at a glance like a traditional two-hand watch with seconds, this is the straightforward option of the pair. Patek describes Calatrava as an emblematic expression of simplicity and elegance, but the collection spans varied designs and complications; the 6119G’s details belong to this reference alone. Patek Philippe’s 6119G specifications.
Classique Souscription: one hand makes time more interpretive
Breguet’s 2025 Souscription has a single hand and a white grand feu enamel dial. It does not offer the familiar separate hour and minute indications of the 6119G. That makes the comparison less about which display is objectively better and more about whether you want an unconventional, pared-back way to read time. Breguet presents the watch as a wristwatch revival of its historical Souscription concept; that is the brand’s framing, not an independently established account of the original sales model. Movement, winding, and power reserve
Both watches are manually wound, so neither is the right pick if automatic winding is a requirement. Patek lists a 30-255 PS caliber in the 6119G, with a minimum 65-hour reserve and 4 Hz frequency. Breguet lists its manual VS00 caliber with a 96-hour reserve and 3 Hz frequency. The stated reserve is longer for the Breguet, but those figures are specifications from each maker, not the result of a shared independent test. Patek Philippe; Breguet.
Case size and materials
The Breguet is nominally 1 mm larger in diameter: 40 mm versus 39 mm. It is also thicker according to the listed dimensions, at 10.8 mm versus 8.08 mm. The Patek case is white gold; Breguet specifies 18K Breguet gold. These measurements can help narrow a shortlist, but they do not establish how either watch will wear on a particular wrist. Try each reference on if fit is decisive.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Calatrava 6119G-001 if you want conventional hour-and-minute hands with small seconds, a thinner listed case, white gold, and a US manufacturer price displayed on the official product page.
- Choose the Classique Souscription 2025 if the single-hand display, white grand feu enamel, Breguet gold, or the brand’s interpretation of its Souscription heritage is the central attraction—and you accept that its official page does not publish a retail price.
- Look beyond this pairing if you mean “Calatrava” broadly or want an automatic watch. Patek’s 5226G-001, for example, is a 40 mm automatic white-gold Calatrava with date and central seconds, and a stated 35–45-hour reserve; it is a different kind of comparison from the hand-wound 6119G. Patek Philippe 5226G-001.
Why the specific Calatrava reference matters
Patek Philippe dates the Calatrava collection to reference 96 in 1932. The current collection is not a single standardized watch: sizes, materials, movements, and complications vary by reference. A current example such as the 5226G-001 is automatic, while the 6119G-001 is manually wound. Patek’s collection page also listed the 38 mm automatic 7007G-010 as a 200-piece limited edition for Watch Art Milan 2026, with a displayed US price of $47,512. That special edition is another reason not to use “Calatrava” as shorthand for one specification or price. Patek Philippe Calatrava collection; 5226G-001; 7007G-010.
