What is the Patek Philippe Cubitus?
Cubitus is a Patek Philippe watch collection that the company introduced in October 2024. Patek described its design direction as a reinterpretation of “elegant sporty” style. Its defining visual combination is a square-shaped case with rounded corners and a dial embossed with horizontal relief.
The first release comprised three references. They share the collection’s overall design but differ in metal, dial, and complications.

Why was Cubitus called Patek Philippe’s first new collection in 25 years?
Forbes characterized Cubitus as Patek Philippe’s first new product line in 25 years. Patek Philippe’s own materials confirm that Cubitus was a new collection introduced in 2024, but the 25-year description is a characterization of the collection launch, not proof that the company released no new references during that period.
The distinction matters: a new collection is a broader product family, while an individual reference is a particular configuration within a family. The claim should therefore be read as a statement about a new line, not a hiatus in watch releases.

What is distinctive about the platinum 5822P-001?
The 5822P-001 is the most functionally elaborate of the three launch models. Its large date, day, and moon-phase indications change instantaneously, alongside small seconds. Patek Philippe says six patent applications were filed for the new movement.
The official product page identifies the self-winding movement as caliber 240 PS CI J LU. It contains 353 parts and has a stated power reserve of 38–48 hours. The watch has a 45 mm platinum case, is 9.6 mm thick, and is water-resistant to 30 m. Patek Philippe displayed a US price of $97,525 on its product page when consulted in 2026; this is a manufacturer-listed figure, not a retailer quote or guaranteed transaction price. How did the Cubitus range expand?
In 2025, Patek Philippe introduced a 40 mm medium-size option. The white-gold 7128/1G-001 has an 8.5 mm-thick case and 30 m water resistance. Its official product page displayed a US price of $84,522 when consulted in 2026. The collection page also lists a rose-gold 7128/1R reference.
