What is the Nautilus 5711/1A-018?
It is a special edition of the steel Nautilus 5711/1A, announced by Patek Philippe on 6 December 2021 to mark 170 years of partnership with Tiffany & Co., a relationship that began in 1851. The edition was limited to 170 watches. Patek Philippe’s announcement describes the standard Nautilus 5711/1A as an icon introduced in 2006 and says it would leave the collection in 2022.

The steel watch has a Tiffany Blue® dial with horizontal relief embossing. Patek Philippe appears at 12 o’clock and Tiffany & Co. at 6 o’clock, making the collaboration visible on the face rather than only in an accompanying description.
Case, bracelet and display back
The dial has baton hour markers; the baton hour and minute hands are blackened white gold with luminous coatings. The integrated steel bracelet combines satin-finished and polished links, applied by hand. Patek Philippe says finishing the case, bezel and bracelet entails 55 production steps per watch. Through the sapphire-crystal caseback, the movement is visible alongside the inscription “170th Anniversary 1851-2021 Tiffany & Co. – Patek Philippe.” These specifications are from the maker’s release.

Place in the Nautilus lineage
Phillips’ auction catalogue places the model in the Nautilus line that began with the 3700 in 1976, and notes that the 5711 debuted in 2006. Its catalogue also describes the 5711’s exhibition caseback and in-house self-winding movement with center seconds. Why was it released in 2021?
The anniversary edition marked the 170-year relationship between Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. Its timing also coincided with the planned end of the standard 5711/1A: Patek Philippe said that reference would leave its collection in 2022. The anniversary watch was a separate, numbered special edition, not an announcement that the standard model would continue indefinitely.
