Yes, Pebble really is back—but the buying advice has changed. The watches announced in March 2025 as the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 are now the Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2. Based on the latest official information available for this article, the Pebble Time 2 is listed at $225 and in stock with shipping within 48 hours; the $149 Pebble 2 Duo is sold out; and the newer Pebble Round 2 is still being fulfilled from a production batch.
The short version
The original Pebble company shut down in 2016. Its founder, Eric Migicovsky, later created Core Devices and began developing new watches around PebbleOS and the original brand’s design philosophy. After the company regained the Pebble trademark in 2025, the products were renamed.

So this is not the unchanged original Pebble company reopening. It is a new, much smaller operation using PebbleOS, former Pebble ideas, and the Pebble name.
The original March 18, 2025 announcement said buyers could “pre-order” the new watches immediately. That wording is now historical. The practical question is which model you can actually obtain.

Pebble 2 Duo: the simpler model
The Pebble 2 Duo is intended as a spiritual successor to the original Pebble 2. It has a 1.2-inch black-and-white e-paper display, a polycarbonate case, and black or white case options. The official specifications also list a barometer and compass.
At $149, it is the less expensive and less elaborate option. Its appeal is the same reason many people liked early Pebble watches: a lightweight, low-distraction interface, physical-button-style simplicity, and a display designed for readability and endurance rather than animation-heavy graphics.
The important buying qualification is that the Pebble 2 Duo is currently listed as sold out. Treat it as a product to monitor for a restock, not as an immediately available recommendation. Be cautious with marketplace listings, where condition, authenticity, warranty coverage and pricing may differ substantially.
Pebble Time 2: the easiest new Pebble to buy now
The Pebble Time 2 is the clearest choice for someone who wants a new Pebble immediately. The official store lists it at $225 and says it is in stock with shipping within 48 hours, though that status is inventory-dependent.

Pebble estimates battery life of up to 30 days, depending on settings and usage. That is an endurance estimate, not a guaranteed runtime: notifications, vibration, backlight use, health tracking and watch-face behavior all affect battery life.

The project has also experienced changing development and delivery timelines. For that reason, do not turn preliminary water-resistance or shipping targets into permanent guarantees. Use the current official product specification and order terms for the exact rating and conditions that apply when you buy.
The name “Pebble Time 2” also has some history. It refers to the original Pebble Time 2 project, which was never released, so it is sometimes styled as Pebble Time 2*.
Pebble Round 2 is a later, production-batch model
Pebble announced the Pebble Round 2 in January 2026. It is based on the rounded Pebble Time Round design and targets buyers who want a more traditional, dress-watch-like shape.
The company’s July 14, 2026 update said approximately 14,000 people had pre-ordered Round 2. Production was expected to take about two months, with the company targeting completion of Round 2 pre-order shipments by the end of September 2026.
That makes Round 2 different from an in-stock order. It may be the better design for you, but it should be treated as a production-batch purchase rather than a promise of immediate delivery. The company also noted that some variants could ship later than others.

Round 2 pre-orders included a silicone strap and charger. Optional custom leather straps were reported at approximately $20–$30, but confirm the current price and availability on the live order page.
What PebbleOS is trying to do
Pebble’s proposition is not to reproduce every feature of an Apple Watch, Wear OS device or Garmin. It is closer to a lightweight notification watch with an unusually long battery life and a mature watch-face and app culture.
PebbleOS is built around:
- Notifications that let you glance at messages without repeatedly reaching for your phone.
- Watch faces and apps.
- Basic activity and health features such as steps, sleep tracking and, on the Time 2, heart-rate monitoring.
- An e-paper display that remains readable without the bright, constantly animated look of many smartwatch screens.
- Long battery endurance.
The watches are intended to work with iPhone and Android phones, but companion-app support depends on current operating-system requirements and software updates. Check the current compatibility information on the official product page before purchasing, especially if you use an older phone.
The trade-off is deliberate: Pebble is less of a computer on your wrist. Do not buy one expecting cellular service, Apple Pay-style payments, a huge modern third-party app catalog, advanced navigation, emergency features, or Garmin-level training analysis.
What happens when you pre-order?
A production-batch pre-order is not the same as buying an in-stock Pebble Time 2. According to the company’s July update, the process generally works like this:
- Place the order through the official Pebble store.
- Roughly two weeks before the watch is ready to ship, look for an email requesting confirmation.
- Confirm your shipping address.
- Select or confirm the color if required.
- Add optional accessories if offered.
- Pay any additional taxes or charges shown under the current order policy.
- Wait for batch fulfillment.
Delivery estimates can change. Different colors or variants may not ship at the same time, and international buyers may face taxes, duties or tariff-related charges. The official store’s current policy should control; do not rely on an older article’s shipping estimate or terms.

If your pre-order has not shipped
First, check the email address used for the order, including spam and promotions folders. Then open the official order-management link and look for outstanding requests involving your address, color, taxes or accessories.

The company has indicated that confirmation emails may arrive about two weeks before shipment. If you still cannot determine the order status, contact official Pebble support rather than assuming a reseller listing is authoritative.
Who should buy a new Pebble?
It is a good fit if you:
- Want a modern replacement for an old Pebble.
- Dislike charging a smartwatch every day or two.
- Prefer glanceable notifications over constant app interaction.
- Value physical-button-style simplicity and an always-readable display.
- Want watch faces, lightweight hardware and a focused software experience.
- Use Android or iPhone and accept a smaller ecosystem.
Choose something else if you need:
- Cellular connectivity, payments or advanced emergency functions.
- Extensive navigation and a large third-party app platform.
- Serious training metrics, GPS analysis or outdoor-sports tools.
- A large retail, repair and replacement network.
- A fully settled, conventional water-resistance specification before buying.
- Guaranteed immediate delivery from a long-established manufacturer.
How Pebble compares with mainstream smartwatches
An Apple Watch is the stronger choice for an iPhone user who wants deep health integration, payments, safety features and a broad app ecosystem. Garmin is better suited to serious exercise, GPS and training data. Fitbit is a more conventional option for mainstream health tracking.
Pebble’s advantage is different: it emphasizes battery life, low distraction, readable e-paper, lightweight hardware and a distinctive watch-face ecosystem. Its weakness is the same focus. It is not a feature-for-feature replacement for those platforms.
What about buying an original used Pebble?
A used original Pebble may offer nostalgia at a lower price, but aging batteries, discontinued hardware, uncertain app compatibility, replacement-part availability and degraded water resistance make it a poor choice for someone who wants dependable daily use.
