Cartier and Fratello brought 25 invited readers together at Cartier’s Amsterdam boutique for a Tank-focused evening marking Cartier’s 50th anniversary in the Netherlands, according to Fratello’s event report. The program, titled “Tank: The Journey of a Timeless Icon,” paired a panel on the collection’s history and design with a look at heritage watches and current models guests could try.
Why Cartier and Fratello held the evening
The event centered on the evolution of the Tank, one of Cartier’s watch collections. Fratello described it as a celebration of Cartier’s 50th anniversary in the Netherlands, with the experience framed as “Tank: The Journey of a Timeless Icon.” The event took place earlier in September 2025; Fratello’s report, published on September 22, does not give the exact date.
The gathering was held at Cartier’s Amsterdam boutique. Fratello says the boutique opened at that location in 2022 and covers 300 m². The report does not provide the address.
What guests could see and try
Fratello reported two distinct groups of Tank watches: 14 heritage pieces displayed for viewing and 36 models from current Tank collections that guests could try. The current range described in the report ran from Tank Must to the latest Tank à Guichets. It does not identify all 36 models or provide their reference numbers.

Photo captions name several Tank examples, including Tank Asymétrique, Tank Américaine, Tank Louis Cartier, Tank Must XL, Tank Normale, Tank Basculante, Tank Oblique, a classic Must de Cartier, Tank Française, and Tank à Guichets. These are pictured or captioned examples, not a complete inventory of the watches at the event.
Captions also identify Santos, Santos-Dumont, Ballon Bleu, and Panthère watches worn or shown during the gathering. They are not presented as part of the Tank display count.

Who joined the discussion
The panel brought together Anthony Santiso, identified by Fratello as head of image and style at Cartier headquarters; Kristian Haagen, described as a Cartier expert and writer; and Robert-Jan Broer. Fratello says they discussed Tank history, design codes, the collection, and personal stories about the watch. The report does not include direct quotations from the panelists.
