Yes—Google’s Pixel Watch “100% Charged Notification” is real, but it was officially announced on October 9, 2024, not newly introduced in 2026. Google said it was enabled by default and released for all Pixel Watch devices covered by that rollout. When a watch reaches full charge, the paired phone gets an alert; the alert clears automatically after the watch is removed from its charger.
What the Pixel Watch full-charge notification does
Google calls the feature the “100% Charged Notification.” When a Pixel Watch reaches 100% while charging, it sends a notification to the paired phone. Google says the notification is dismissed automatically when the watch is taken off its charger. The alert is intended to let you know the watch is ready to wear again; it is not a charging control.
That distinction matters: the feature does not set an 80% or 90% limit, stop charging at a user-selected level, or diagnose battery health. Google describes a completion alert, not a battery-protection mode. Google’s October 9, 2024 announcement says the feature is on by default and requires no settings change.
Which Pixel Watch models are covered?
Google announced availability for “all Pixel Watch devices” in the lineup covered by the October 2024 rollout. Contemporary coverage identified the original Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, and Pixel Watch 3. That wording should not be taken as confirmation for Pixel Watch generations released after that announcement.

The alert goes to the paired phone. Contemporary reporting said it should work with Android phones paired to a Pixel Watch, not only Google Pixel phones, but Google’s announcement does not provide a complete phone-model or Android-version compatibility list. Support for every Android configuration is therefore not established, and iPhone support should not be assumed. Android Authority’s rollout coverage discusses the supported lineup and phone context.
Why the feature seemed to arrive more than once
Reports of the feature predate Google’s formal announcement. MobileSyrup found it in the Pixel Watch app in November 2023, and later reported that it was being enabled for some users. That early availability was not universal; the app version cited in the November 29, 2023 report was 2.1.0.576785526, a historical sighting rather than a current requirement.

Google’s October 9, 2024 announcement marked the broader official rollout. So the accurate timeline is initial discovery and limited availability in November 2023, followed by the wider official rollout in October 2024—not a first launch in 2026. What to check if you do not get the alert
Google’s announcement does not publish a definitive troubleshooting flow or a universal settings path. The following are practical checks, not confirmed requirements for every phone and software version:

- This replacement charger is compatible with Pixel Watch 3/Pixel Watch 2 and Fitbit Ace LTE/Versa 4/Versa 3. Made from top-quality wires, it guarantees excellent performance for your wearable devices—with a tough high-grade PC shell, soft ABS coating, and pure copper wires that boost durability and ensure steady power transmission, making it a long-lasting choice. Note: Please confirm your device model before purchasing.
- This charging cable is equipped with a voltage regulator and an internal PTC, which protect your device from damage caused by overcurrent when connected to a power source—both work together to keep your watch safe from harm during charging.
- You can connect it to a power adapter, car adapter, power bank, laptop, and more. These charging methods deliver an efficient and highly stable charging experience (use only adapters with ≤1A current and ≤5V voltage).
- Package includes: 2 × charging cables (1 Type-C port and 1 USB-A port). With a length of 3.3 feet/100 cm, they are long enough to charge your watch.
- Confirm that the watch is paired with the Android phone where you expect to receive the alert.
- Check Android’s notification settings to make sure notifications from the Pixel Watch companion app are allowed and not muted.
- Verify that Bluetooth or the watch’s active connection to the phone is working. A disconnected phone may not receive the alert promptly.
- Install available updates for the Pixel Watch app and phone through their normal update channels.
- Remove the watch from the charger, then try another charging session. Delivery may not be instantaneous, so a brief delay alone does not prove the feature has failed.
- Check whether Do Not Disturb, Bedtime mode, notification suppression, or restrictive battery settings are hiding or delaying phone notifications.
- If the connection seems stale, restart the phone and watch, reconnect them, and test again.
If the notification remains absent, that does not by itself show that your model is unsupported. Eligibility under Google’s lineup-wide announcement and successful notification delivery on a particular phone are different things; software, permissions, connection, or device-state issues may affect delivery.
Is there a setting to turn it on?
Google said the feature is on by default, so owners should not need to enable a dedicated switch. Check ordinary Android notification permission for the Pixel Watch app if alerts are missing, but do not assume every app version has a “Full Battery Notification” toggle or follow a menu path that may not exist on your device. A later third-party article describes a manual toggle, but that claim is not corroborated by Google’s announcement: TechYorker’s instructions.

- The magnetic 5W USB-C[R] Fast Charging Cable charger is compatible with the Google Pixel Watch 2 and Google Pixel Watch 3 (41mm and 45mm)
- Google Pixel Watch sold separately
- Features magnetic pins that snap into your watch for a more secure charging connection[1]
- Requires a USB-C PD compatible power adapter, minimum 5W (sold separately)
- Cable length is 1 meter
What the alert does not promise
- It does not stop charging or enforce a charge limit.
- It does not alert at a custom threshold such as 80% or 90%.
- It does not guarantee improved long-term battery lifespan. Google framed the alert as a way to put the watch back on promptly and avoid leaving it on the charger unnecessarily, not as a measured battery-health benefit.
- It does not replace checking the watch’s own charging status if the phone notification is delayed or absent.
Google’s announcement is the primary source for the feature’s behavior and default status: 100% Charged Notification for Pixel Watch. Contemporary coverage also summarized its availability across the lineup, including Android Headlines’ October 10, 2024 report.
