As of August 18, 2026, there are no verified Black Friday 2026 deals for the fourth-generation Google Nest Learning Thermostat or the 2025 Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. Black Friday is still ahead. Google is currently offering $40 off the thermostat through August 23; Samsung lists the 47mm LTE watch at $649.99, with qualifying purchase incentives. The best historical Black Friday reference points are $229.99 for the thermostat and $469 for the watch in 2024—not confirmed prices for this year.

These are different kinds of prices: Google’s thermostat promotion is a dated direct discount, while Samsung’s headline savings depend on the offer selected and may require trading in another device. A trade-in credit is not the same as a price cut available to every buyer.
Nest Learning Thermostat: buy now only after checking compatibility
What the current offer means
Google Store’s $40 discount applies to the fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat from August 12, 2026, at 3:45 p.m. PDT through August 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT, while supplies last. The offer is for U.S. residents ordering to a U.S. shipping address, and it generally cannot be combined with promotional codes or simultaneous bundle offers unless the terms specify an exception. Check the offer page and final checkout total before ordering, since stock and terms can affect availability. Google Store offer terms.
Check the heating and cooling system first
A discount cannot make an incompatible thermostat work. Before purchase, check the wiring and system type against Google’s compatibility guidance for the exact thermostat. Pay particular attention to whether the system needs a C-wire or another power arrangement, and whether it uses a heat pump, multiple heating or cooling stages, or accessories such as a humidifier or dehumidifier. Unusual wiring or uncertainty is a good reason to consult a qualified installer rather than assume a simple swap.

- The Nest Thermostat is designed to work without a C wire in most homes, but for some systems, including heating only, cooling only, zone controlled, and heat pump systems, you’ll need a C wire or other compatible power accessory

- Programmable thermostat that lets you create an energy efficient schedule in the Google Home app on your Android or iPhone
- Remote control lets family members change the thermostat temperature from anywhere on a phone, laptop, or tablet[1]
- Confirm the thermostat supports your HVAC system and wiring.
- Include any professional installation cost in the effective price.
- Plan to set up the thermostat through Google Home, with a compatible setup and Wi-Fi connection.
- Ask your electric or gas utility whether a local rebate applies before buying; eligibility and program availability vary, so do not count on a rebate until it is confirmed.
Buy now or wait?
Buy during the current promotion if you have confirmed compatibility, need the thermostat soon, and the discounted checkout price still makes sense after installation costs and any verified utility rebate. If your existing thermostat works and you can wait, the $229.99 price reported for Black Friday 2024 is a useful historical benchmark: a price near or below that level would be compelling, but it is not a forecast or a promised 2026 sale price.

- Easy control in the Google Home app: Adjust on your phone from anywhere[1] or by using your voice with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant smart speaker[3], it’s easy to install yourself and it’s Matter compatible for simple integration into your smart home[5]
- Beautiful design: With a 60% larger display[11] and Dynamic Farsight, you can see info from across the room[1]; choose the design, like a clock or the weather; it automatically adjusts brightness for the best readability or you can adjust manually
Do not treat “up to $250” as $250 off for everyone. The amount depends on an eligible device and Samsung’s trade-in rules. Check the eligible-device list, required condition, and how inspection affects the credit. Also check what happens to the trade-in if you return the watch; do not assume you can recover the surrendered device or value.
What you are paying for—and what to verify
The Ultra is a large-format, outdoor-oriented smartwatch, not a like-for-like alternative to a thermostat. Samsung lists a titanium case design, sapphire crystal, dual-frequency GPS, a Quick Button, and a BioActive Sensor. Samsung claims up to 100 hours in Power Saving Mode and up to 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving Mode; these are manufacturer claims for specified modes, not independent battery test results. - Check Android and Samsung-phone compatibility before purchasing. Some health features can depend on a Samsung phone, Samsung Health Monitor, and regional availability or regulatory approval.
- The 47mm case may feel too large or heavy if you prefer a smaller watch; consider trying the size on if possible.
- LTE may require a compatible carrier plan and can add recurring monthly costs.
- Compare the final no-trade-in price with any retailer’s direct discount. A headline trade-in maximum may be worse value than a lower outright price.
Buy now or wait?
Buying now is more defensible if you specifically want a rugged, large-format LTE watch, have a compatible phone, and find Samsung’s $100 no-trade-in credit worthwhile—or have a trade-in whose verified value materially improves the total. If you do not need LTE or the Ultra’s outdoor-focused features, or if you want a straightforward cash discount, waiting is reasonable. The $469 Amazon price reported for Black Friday 2024 is a strong historical comparison for a new watch without depending on trade-in value, not a confirmed 2026 target price.

- Consider a non-Learning Nest thermostat if price matters more than adaptive scheduling, but verify the exact model’s HVAC compatibility and current price before choosing it.
What would count as a good Black Friday price?
Use the 2024 deals as reference points, not predictions: around $229.99 or lower for the fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat, and around $469 for a new Galaxy Watch Ultra without requiring a trade-in. A 2026 offer would need to be checked against its exact model, condition, seller, shipping cost, return terms, and any trade-in requirement. No verified 2026 Black Friday price is established as of August 18.
For the watch, compare the amount due without trading in a device against any direct retailer discount. For the thermostat, compare the checkout price plus installation against any confirmed local utility rebate. A lower advertised price is not necessarily a better total deal if it depends on a trade-in, excludes the model you want, or leaves installation costs out.
