Google’s June 2026 Pixel Watch update combines the 2026-06-05 security patch with the rollout of Wear OS 7 to eligible watches. Google announced the release on June 16, with separate build numbers for LTE and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models and a phased rollout that can vary by carrier and device. As of August 16, 2026, June was the latest 2026 Pixel Watch security bulletin listed by Google; an August bulletin was not confirmed in the available official information.

What the June Pixel Watch update includes

This is more than a routine security patch: Google’s announcement pairs the June security level with the Wear OS 7 rollout. The security bulletin index records the June 2026 bulletin as published June 16, 2026, with a patch level of 2026-06-05. Google’s Pixel Watch update announcement lists these builds:

Model type June 2026 build
LTE CP2A.260603.001
Bluetooth/Wi-Fi CP2A.260603.001.S1

The different identifiers are expected for the two connection types; a build-number difference alone does not mean an update failed. Google says availability rolls out in phases and can vary by carrier and device, potentially taking several weeks.

Security fixes

The Pixel Watch Security Bulletins index is Google’s primary reference for the patch level and bulletin details. The available information establishes the June patch level, but does not identify particular CVEs, severity ratings, affected components, or whether any issue was exploited. It is accurate to call this an update that includes security fixes; there is not enough verified detail here to call a specific vulnerability critical or actively exploited. Pixel Watch bulletins supplement the broader Android Security Bulletins.

  • Precision-crafted to do it all: The Google Pixel Watch 5 features the domed Actua 360 display with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass and up to 40 hours of battery life[1,5]
  • Metrics that matter: Advanced sensors help you stay ahead of your health and wellness; and Google Pixel’s most accurate heart rate tracking is fine-tuned for your activity[6,7]
  • Understand your sleep like never before: Your watch captures insights like the time spent in sleep stages to breathing regularity, then summarizes it all in a personalized Sleep Score[8,9]
  • Detects loss of pulse, then calls for help: Pixel Watch 5 is the only smartwatch to feature Loss of Pulse Detection, which can prompt a call to emergency services[10]

Wear OS 7 additions

Google’s update announcement also lists an improved Raise to Talk gesture model, intended to make activation more robust and accurate, and Remote Media Routing, which lets the watch manage audio and video output devices from a paired Android phone.

Google’s broader Wear OS 7 announcement describes glanceable information, Android Live Updates on the wrist, connected-device integration and battery-life improvements. These are platform-level announcements, not a promise that every capability is available on every Pixel Watch. Google describes Gemini availability as coming to select devices later in 2026; treat that as a separate, limited rollout rather than an automatic feature of this update on every model.

Which Pixel Watch models are eligible?

Google’s announcement refers to “eligible Pixel Watch devices” rather than giving a complete model-by-model eligibility list. Secondary reporting citing carrier information expected the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4 to receive Wear OS 7, but that is not the same as a universal Google guarantee. Check the update notice on your own watch and Google’s current Pixel Watch support pages for model-specific status.

Separate security support from major-version eligibility: receiving a security fix does not establish that a watch will receive Wear OS 7 or every feature in it. The original Pixel Watch’s later update and support status has been described in secondary coverage, but that does not establish its eligibility for this release. Do not assume it gets the same platform upgrade or feature set as newer models.

  • The Google Pixel Watch 4 has Gemini built in[4]; just ask questions and your ultra capable AI assistant will deliver quick responses for personalized help; and stay connected when you’re texting with AI-powered quick replies that are hyper-relevant[5,6]
  • Get up to 30 hours of battery life or up to 48 hours in Battery Saver mode[3]; plus, the new side charging dock gives you 15 hours of battery in 15 minutes or less[7]
  • Train smarter with 40+ exercise modes and real-time stats on your wrist[8]; and with high-precision dual-frequency GPS, you get more accurate route tracking on runs and hikes[1]

How to check for and install the update

Use the watch’s normal Google update channel. Menu wording can vary by software version.

  1. On the watch: Open Settings, then System, then System updates, and check for an update.
  2. Connect the watch to Wi-Fi or its paired phone and place it on its charger. Make sure it has sufficient battery before starting installation.
  3. If an update is offered, follow the on-screen prompts and leave the watch charging while it installs. Avoid interrupting power during installation.
  4. On the paired Android phone: Open the Google Pixel Watch app and look in its system or update section for an update option. Follow the prompts if one is shown; the watch’s Settings screen is the direct route if the app layout differs.

Google’s June announcement says rollout timing can differ by carrier and device. LTE carrier approval, region, connection type and the staged rollout can all affect when an offer appears. The available announcement does not establish a new phone-version requirement for this update, so do not infer one from compatibility guidance for a different watch model.

  • Stay on top of activity, calories burned, and more with Fitbit activity tracking

How to verify the installed version

After installation, check the watch’s system update or software information screen. Compare the displayed values with the appropriate entry below rather than relying only on the notification banner.

  • Security update: 2026-06-05.
  • LTE build: CP2A.260603.001.
  • Bluetooth/Wi-Fi build: CP2A.260603.001.S1.
  • Platform: Wear OS 7, where the watch is eligible for that upgrade.

The patch-level date is June 5 even if the watch receives the update later in the phased rollout. If your watch already shows a newer patch level, it is not missing this June security level merely because the build differs.

If the update is missing or will not install

A missing offer is not by itself evidence that the watch is unsupported: Google’s rollout is staged, and LTE carrier timing can differ. Try these checks in order:

Google Pixel Watch 3 (45mm) Latest Model - Matte Black Aluminum Case - Obsidian Band - Wi-Fi (Renewed)
  • The Google Pixel Watch 3 is designed for performance, with advanced fitness from Fitbit[1,2]; the 45mm screen is twice as bright and 40% larger than before, making it easier to see your stats and info[1]
  • Maximize your performance with advanced running features; build custom run workouts and get real-time guidance and advanced form tracking[3]
  • Enhance your run routine with Fitbit Premium; Google AI uses your goals, past runs, and readiness to power personalized run recommendations[3]
  • Know what your body is ready for each day with readiness; it uses sleep, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability to show if you’re ready to take on a workout or prioritize recovery[3]
  • Cardio load measures how hard your heart works so you can see how hard you’ve pushed; compare trends to see if you’re under- or over-training[3]
  1. Confirm the watch is online through Wi-Fi or its paired phone.
  2. Place it on the charger and ensure it has enough battery to complete installation.
  3. Restart the watch and paired phone, then check for the update again.
  4. Check Google Play on the phone for an update to the Pixel Watch app.
  5. If no update appears, check again later; a phased rollout may not have reached your device.
  6. If installation repeatedly fails, consult Google Pixel Watch Help. Do not factory-reset as a routine first step, and avoid sideloading firmware unless following an official Google procedure and you understand the risks.

If a particular Wear OS 7 feature is absent after updating, first confirm that your model is eligible and that the relevant app and paired-phone setup are supported. Feature availability can also vary by device, carrier, country, account and app version. General risks associated with major platform updates—such as temporary battery drain during optimization or app-compatibility changes—are possibilities, not confirmed defects in this June release.

Should you install it now?

If the update is offered through the watch’s normal Google channel and the watch is charged, installing is sensible: it brings the published June security patch and, on eligible devices, Wear OS 7. If you depend on the watch for a time-sensitive activity, wait until you can keep it charged and allow installation to finish without interruption. Keep important information synchronized where possible. A delayed offer during the announced staged rollout is a reason to check again later, not to disable updates permanently.
