What is the Praesidus PAC-76?
Praesidus describes the PAC-76 as “a revival of the now by-gone era of military analog chronographs.” The brand says its design pays homage to chronographs used mainly by the USAF and RAF. That is the maker’s design story; the available product information does not establish that the PAC-76 itself was issued to, or used by, either service.
Its bi-compax layout places two subdials on a compact face. Oversized numerals at 12 and 6, an asymmetrical case, and contrasting dial textures draw on the period look while giving the dial distinct visual zones.

What the meca-quartz movement means
The PAC-76 uses the VK64 meca-quartz caliber, identified by both Praesidus and Fratello. Meca-quartz combines quartz timekeeping with a chronograph mechanism designed to give the chronograph hand a more mechanical-feeling sweep. This description explains the movement type; it is not a measured assessment of this watch’s accuracy, durability, or chronograph performance.
Dial design and legibility
Praesidus describes the main dial as popcorn-textured, with vinyl-textured recessed subdials, embossed indices, and Super-LumiNova elements. The maker says the surface contrast and raised indices are intended to help separate information on the bi-compax dial. That is a design aim, not independent evidence of how legible the watch is in everyday use or how brightly its lume performs.

The listed lug width is 20 mm, making “20 mm watch strap” a useful starting point when searching for alternatives. Width alone does not confirm that a particular aftermarket strap or clasp will attach correctly; verify the attachment style as well as the fit.
