Reference 136.025 is A. Lange & Söhne’s LANGE 1 TIME ZONE in 950 platinum. The manufacturer specifies a rhodium-coloured dial made of 925 silver. The brand announced this case-and-dial combination in a release dated 13 July 2023; the official product page identifies the configuration and its specifications.
The design’s defining feature is the relationship between the two time displays and the peripheral city ring. Rather than treating the second time zone as a small, isolated complication, the watch gives it a dedicated subsidiary dial and a city marker that connects the display to a named reference location.
How the second time zone works
Read home time and selected-zone time
The large time circle displays home time. The smaller subsidiary circle displays the selected zone’s time. Around them, a ring lists 24 reference cities corresponding to the represented time zones. This arrangement lets the wearer read both times at once and see which city is associated with the smaller display.

Change the selected city
Pressing the corrector at 8 o’clock advances the city ring eastward by one zone and advances the smaller dial’s hour hand. The operation links the city indication to the second-zone hour rather than requiring separate adjustments to each. This is A. Lange & Söhne’s published operating description, not a hands-on assessment.
Interpret day and night
Each time display has a ring-shaped day/night indicator linked to its hour hand. The dial-coloured portion represents 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the blue portion represents 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The manufacturer also says the selected city marker indicates daylight-saving observance: a red-filled aperture identifies a city observing daylight-saving time, while an unchanged background marks a city that observes standard time year-round.
Synchronize or set the displays
The synchronization mechanism allows the selected zone’s time to be transferred from the smaller dial to the larger home-time display. With the crown in its second position, both times can be adjusted together. A. Lange & Söhne describes another setting option in which holding the time-zone corrector stops the second-zone hour hand while the main time is set independently. Because the oversized date is linked to main time, it may need correction after that adjustment.
Case size and wrist fit
The manufacturer lists a 41.9 mm case diameter and a height of 10.9 mm. Those measurements establish the watch’s stated dimensions, but they cannot determine how it will sit on a particular wrist; the available manufacturer material does not provide an independent wear or comfort assessment.

Calibre L141.1
The watch is powered by the manually wound manufacture calibre L141.1. A. Lange & Söhne states a 72-hour power reserve from one mainspring barrel and a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour. The manufacturer also describes a classic screw balance and an in-house, freely oscillating balance spring. These are published specifications, not independent measurements of accuracy or real-world running time.

Visible construction
Through the sapphire-crystal caseback, the brand lists an untreated German-silver three-quarter plate, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, a whiplash precision index adjuster, and hand-engraved balance and intermediate-wheel cocks. A. Lange & Söhne says the movement is assembled twice and hand-decorated. These finishing descriptions are the manufacturer’s; they have not been independently inspected here.

A. Lange & Söhne says it first gave the LANGE 1 TIME ZONE its distinctive form in 2005. The brand dates the second-generation version with calibre L141.1 to 2020, and its 2023 release introduced the platinum case and rhodium-coloured dial combination discussed here.
In that 2023 release, chief executive Wilhelm Schmid described the watch as “an expressive manifestation of our manufactory’s efforts to challenge conventions and break new ground in precision watchmaking through innovative advancements and constructions.” That is the executive’s statement of design intent, not third-party evidence of performance.
What the published information does—and does not—establish
The manufacturer’s material specifies the case, dial, dimensions, movement, stated reserve and time-zone mechanism, but it does not establish a current price or live stock in any particular market. It also does not provide independently measured accuracy, wrist comfort, service interval or service cost, warranty terms, or a secondary-market value. Buyers should confirm current pricing, availability and support directly with a relevant local boutique or retailer rather than infer them from the watch’s specifications.
