The Patek Philippe 5330G-001’s defining feature is a date hand that tracks the local time zone selected on its world-time display. It pairs that mechanism with a blue-gray patterned dial and a white-gold case. The specifications and launch history are clear; comfort, real-world legibility and market value are not established by the available evidence, so this is a specification-led review rather than a hands-on verdict.
What makes the 5330G-001 different?
Many world-time watches show the time across multiple zones, but the 5330G-001 also ties its date display to the selected local zone. Set the desired city at 12 o’clock using the pusher at 10 o’clock: the city shown at the top represents local time, and the date indication follows that setting. Patek Philippe describes the date differential as patented and calls the synchronized local-time date a world first in its 9 April 2024 release.
A transparent central-glass hand with a red tip points to the date around the dial flange. The central hands show the selected city’s local time, while a 24-hour ring provides day/night indication for all 24 time zones. This arrangement makes the date complication part of the world-time system rather than a separate date window.
How the world-time display works
The 5330G-001 uses a city disk and a 24-hour indication to present time around the world. The city selected at 12 o’clock is the reference for local time; the time-zone pusher advances the selection and updates the local-time display and date. Patek Philippe’s product listing describes the functions as world time, 24-hour and day/night indication for all 24 time zones, and a date hand.

That relationship is the central technical distinction of the watch: the date is not simply a fixed calendar reading beside the dial. It corresponds to the local zone represented by the selected city. The manufacturer’s explanation establishes the intended operation, but does not provide independent testing of setting accuracy or ease of use.
Design and official specifications
Patek Philippe describes the dial as blue-gray opaline with a carbon pattern, paired with a blue-gray city disk. White-gold baton-style hour markers and dauphine-style hands have white luminous coating. The blue-gray calfskin strap has a denim pattern and white stitching. The fully polished case is white gold, with a sapphire-crystal case back. These are manufacturer descriptions; they do not establish how the watch looks or reads in different lighting or on the wrist.

Movement and practical implications
The self-winding 240 HU C combines the world-time display and synchronized date in a movement measuring 30.5 mm across and 4.58 mm thick, according to Patek Philippe. Its listed 38–48-hour power reserve means the manufacturer gives a range rather than one fixed duration. The listing does not specify conditions that account for that range, so it should not be read as an independently verified real-world result.

Launch history and collection status
Patek Philippe says the 5330G first appeared as a limited edition at its “Watch Art” grand exhibition in Tokyo in June 2023. In 2024, it joined the regular collection; the company announced that transition in a release dated 9 April 2024. The current product listing identifies the reference as the 5330G-001 World Time Date.

The 5330G-001 is most distinctive for someone drawn to a mechanical world-time display and the idea of a date that follows the selected local time zone. Its city ring, 24-hour/day-night indication and date hand make the complication the focus, while the white-gold case and patterned blue-gray details give the watch a specific visual identity.

Best Value
Whether it is the right choice depends on priorities that specifications alone cannot settle: comfort, legibility in varied conditions, preference for the design, and value relative to other watches. Patek Philippe’s collection also lists World Time references 5231G-001, 5935A-001 and 5930P-001, but the available product information does not establish a meaningful head-to-head comparison among them.
