The Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns reference M047.507.37.051.00 pairs a rose-gold-PVD-coated steel case with a matte black dial and black rubber strap. Its defining feature is a pair of crowns: the crown at 2 o’clock operates an internal rotating 60-minute flange, while the crown at 4 o’clock sets the time and date. The scale turns beneath the crystal; it is not an external rotating dive bezel.
What is new about this Multifort 8 Two Crowns?
This is a finish and colorway addition to the Multifort 8 Two Crowns, not a different movement or a new crown arrangement. The octagonal-bezel case has rose-gold PVD over 316L stainless steel, with a matte black dial and black rubber strap. Monochrome Watches introduced the reference on 22 December 2025 as an expansion of the series and described it as a permanent-collection model. Monochrome’s introduction covers the launch colorway; Swatch Group’s March 2025 overview also describes a steel version with a matte blue dial and matching rubber strap.
What does the second crown do?
The crown at 2 o’clock adjusts and turns the 60-minute scale on the inner flange. Use it to align the scale with a chosen starting point and read elapsed time against the minute hand. Because the flange is beneath the crystal, it is an internal timing scale rather than a rotating external bezel. The crown at 4 o’clock controls the ordinary time and date settings. MIDO’s official product page identifies the two-crown functions.
Case, dial, and wearing dimensions
MIDO lists a 40 mm case width, 38.4 mm length, 9.5 mm average thickness, and 12 mm lug width. Monochrome reports a 44.86 mm lug-to-lug measurement. These figures describe different dimensions: width is the across-case size, while lug-to-lug gives the end-to-end length over the wrist.

Movement and water resistance
The automatic MIDO Calibre 72 has a Nivachron balance spring and up to 72 hours of power reserve, according to MIDO. Monochrome additionally reports 21 jewels and a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour, and identifies the calibre as based on ETA A31.111, an evolution of ETA 2892; those movement details are reported by Monochrome rather than shown on the consulted MIDO page.
MIDO specifies water resistance of 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft) and a screw-down crown. That rating is a stated specification; it does not establish that the watch is a certified dive instrument. The sourced description supports understanding it as a sports watch with an internal timing flange.

Price and availability depend on market and date
Prices reported for the reference differ by market and observation date. Monochrome listed CHF 1,150 and EUR 1,220 on 22 December 2025. MIDO’s UK page displayed £1,140 and an out-of-stock status when accessed on 8 October 2026. The UK stock status does not establish availability elsewhere, and the launch prices should not be read as current prices in those markets.
