What is the Laurent Ferrier Di Rosa watch?
It is a limited-edition version of the Classic Micro-Rotor, created with French artist Hervé Di Rosa. Monochrome Watches reported the reference as LCF038.AC.D1G and the edition as five watches. Laurent Ferrier’s LinkedIn announcement also described it as a five-piece edition.
The collaboration’s defining feature is its dial: rather than a conventional arrangement of applied indices, it translates Di Rosa’s imagery into an engraved scene that also marks the hours.
How the Di Rosa artwork becomes a dial
According to Monochrome’s June 19, 2024 report, the image draws on an Iroko wood bas-relief made in Foumban, Cameroon, itself inspired by Di Rosa’s Dirosapocalypse artwork. The central figure is named “Ah! Ah! Ah!” and depicted as a green character with twelve arms. Those arms serve as hour markers.

What does the Classic Micro-Rotor Di Rosa cost?
Monochrome reported a launch price of CHF 80,000 excluding VAT on June 19, 2024. That is a historical launch figure, not a confirmed current retail price or resale value. No current stock or asking price has been verified.

Why the movement matters to this edition
The FBN 229.01 is an automatic movement wound by a unidirectional pawl-fitted micro-rotor. Its natural silicon escapement delivers a double direct impulse to the balance, and the reported power reserve is 72 hours. The watch displays hours and minutes only, leaving the engraved dial as the visual focus rather than adding further indications.
