RGM marked 25 years of watchmaking in 2017 by unveiling three watches at an event in Pennsylvania: the Model 25, Model 222-RR Railroad, and 801SW-COE. The watches differ in movement, dial craft, and case design. RGM’s current Model 25 page lists examples at $9,950, $17,900, and $18,900, but those are present-day listed prices—not verified 2017 launch prices.
What RGM unveiled for its 25th anniversary
RGM held an open house in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, on September 15–16, 2017, and unveiled three watches at the nearby NAWCC Watch & Clock Museum in Columbia. The company also displayed its Chess Watch, which it had introduced earlier in the anniversary year; it was not one of the three watches unveiled at the museum event.
The three September releases offer distinct combinations of movement provenance and dial technique:

Specifications in the table come from RGM’s September 18, 2017 anniversary announcement and Monochrome Watches’ September 29, 2017 contemporary report. The Model 25’s current page has additional specifications that should not automatically be treated as its 2017 launch configuration.

Model 25 specs: guilloché dial and coin-edge case
The Model 25 pairs a 40 mm American-made case with a coin-edge treatment and a hand-cut, engine-turned dial. RGM described the dials as American-made and offered in different guilloché patterns and galvanic colors. The contemporary coverage names barley, moray, and spiral patterns, with metallic colors including silver, copper, and royal blue.
In 2017, the watch was reported with a Swiss ETA 2892-A2 automatic movement. Its stated functions were hours, minutes, and seconds, with a date on some versions. RGM’s current Model 25 specification page describes a Swiss-made automatic movement heavily modified by RGM instead. These descriptions refer to different publication contexts; the current movement description should not be backdated as the verified 2017 specification.

Current Model 25 specification details
RGM’s current page lists the following dimensions and construction details:
- American-made 316L stainless-steel case
- 40 mm diameter, 10.4 mm thickness, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and 22 mm lug width
- Sapphire crystal on the front and caseback
- Water resistance to 5 ATM
- Automatic movement with 21 jewels, 28,800 vph, rhodium finish, Côtes de Genève, perlage, and a solid-gold plaque on the winding rotor
- Power reserve of 52–56 hours
- Hours, minutes, and seconds; date on some models
Model 222-RR Railroad: restored Hamilton movement
The 41 mm stainless-steel 222-RR draws on railroad-watch design, with a Boxcar-style Grand Feu enamel dial, blue accents, and a crown set at 1:30 rather than the usual 3 o’clock position. RGM fitted restored Hamilton 921 or 923 movements. Monochrome’s September 29, 2017 report says fewer than 4,000 Hamilton 923 movements were ever made; that figure applies to the 923 and is attributed to that report, not to the 921.

801SW-COE: RGM’s in-house center-seconds caliber
The 801SW-COE is a Corps of Engineers family watch built around the 801SW, a center-seconds version of RGM’s original 801. The contemporary report specifies a 42 mm brushed 316L steel case, sapphire crystal and caseback, Grand Feu enamel dial, and brown leather strap.
RGM presented the 801SW as its fourth in-house movement. The company describes a newly devised main plate and an arrangement that places the third wheel and sweep-drive wheel on one arbor beneath the bridge, instead of relying on the friction-fit wheel used in many center-seconds layouts. RGM says the design uses more components but improves reliability and makes full servicing easier. This movement story belongs to the 801SW-COE; the Model 25 and 222-RR use different calibers.

What is known about the anniversary watches’ prices?
Neither RGM’s September 2017 announcement nor the contemporaneous Monochrome report establishes a launch price for the Model 25, 222-RR, or 801SW-COE. RGM’s current Model 25 page shows examples priced at $9,950, $17,900, and $18,900, as well as one entry marked “Price on request.” These are prices displayed on the current page, not confirmed prices from the 2017 anniversary launch. A comparable current price for the 222-RR or 801SW-COE is not stated in the cited sources.

The Model 25 emphasizes hand-cut guilloché and a Swiss automatic caliber as described in 2017. The 222-RR combines enamel-dial railroad styling with restored vintage Hamilton movements. The 801SW-COE is the anniversary release built around RGM’s own center-seconds caliber and a Grand Feu enamel dial. Their case diameters step from 40 mm to 41 mm to 42 mm, while the price evidence is uneven: current listing prices are available for Model 25 examples, but the cited material does not establish 2017 launch prices for any of the three.
