The Richard Mille RM 19-02 Tourbillon Fleur is a 2015 limited-edition watch built around an animated magnolia: five crafted petals open to reveal a flying tourbillon, which rises with a stone-set stamen. Five petals move around the tourbillon
The magnolia has five hand-crafted, hand-coloured petals. When the flower opens, it reveals the flying tourbillon escapement; the tourbillon and stone-set stamen rise by 1 mm. Richard Mille attributes the petal movement to five levers beneath the petals, connected through a long pinion system.

Automatic cycle and on-demand activation
Richard Mille says the magnolia can open either in passing or on demand, using the pusher at 9 o’clock. In period reports, Fratello and Monochrome described an automatic cycle every five minutes, with the opening and closing action taking about six seconds. They also reported that pressing the pusher triggers the action manually and resets the interval.
A separate energy source for the automaton
Richard Mille says a separate second winding barrel supplies energy to the complex automaton mechanism. That is a description of its power source; the available information does not establish that it produces a measured improvement in timekeeping accuracy.

How many RM 19-02 Tourbillon Fleur watches were made?
Richard Mille states that the 2015 limited edition comprises 30 timepieces and describes each as unique. That establishes the size of the edition, but it does not establish how many examples might be offered for sale today.
