The Richard Mille RM 25-01 is an adventure watch in unusually literal form: alongside a manual-winding tourbillon chronograph, it offers interchangeable bezel configurations, including a detachable compass, plus a spirit level and a sealed compartment designed for water-purification tablets. Richard Mille introduced the 20-piece limited edition in 2018 in collaboration with Sylvester Stallone. Those are documented design features and manufacturer specifications—not evidence that the watch has been independently proven in survival conditions.
Why does the RM 25-01 have a Rambo connection?
Phillips traces the project’s inspiration to the question of what watch John Rambo would wear. That is Phillips’ account of the concept, not evidence that Stallone wore the RM 25-01 in a film or that it appeared on-screen. Richard Mille describes the watch as a collaboration with Stallone and presents his words, “Ready for action.”
What watchmaking is inside?
Richard Mille calls the model the RM 25-01 Manual Winding Tourbillon Chronograph Adventure and identifies its movement as calibre RM25-01. The manufacturer’s 2018 specifications list a manual-winding tourbillon with these functions and indications:
- 24-hour display, minutes and seconds
- Chronograph with a 30-minute totaliser
- Power-reserve, torque and function indicators
Richard Mille states a 70-hour power reserve. The brand also claims that movement optimization reduced energy consumption by 50%; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured result.

What does the RM 25-01 compass do?
The watch comes with two interchangeable bezel configurations. One is a detachable compass assembly; the other is a bidirectional bezel marked for 24-hour reading and directional orientation.
Detachable compass assembly
Richard Mille describes the compass as a Grade 5 titanium assembly with fixed and rotating bezels, a mirrored cover, a sighting slot, anti-magnetic treatment and a bubble level. It can be detached from the watch and mounted on a Carbon TPT® plate. The bubble level helps indicate whether the assembly is level when sighting. The manufacturer documents these as design features; it does not establish independent field performance.

Directional bezel
The alternative bezel rotates in both directions and carries a 24-hour scale, 360-degree graduation and cardinal directions. It provides a different way to use the watch’s markings for orientation, without the detachable compass assembly.
What is the tablet compartment for?
The case includes a hermetic Grade 5 titanium compartment intended to hold water-purification tablets. Richard Mille says the tablets can treat one litre of water in 30–120 minutes, depending on contamination. That is the brand’s description of the intended use and timing, not a general safety guarantee: treatment effectiveness depends on the tablet, water and its instructions. The compartment does not make the watch a substitute for verified water-treatment equipment.

Materials, water resistance and edition size
Richard Mille describes a titanium and Carbon TPT® case and states water resistance to 100 metres. These are the manufacturer’s specifications, not an independent test result. The brand lists the limited edition at 20 pieces in its 2018 model information.
Those details place the RM 25-01 at the intersection of elaborate mechanical watchmaking and specialized adventure-themed equipment. The sources cited here do not establish its dimensions, weight, comparative field performance, current market price or present availability, so they cannot support a practical-utility comparison against dedicated navigation tools or a price estimate.
