Richard Mille’s RM 72-01 Le Mans Classic is a 150-piece limited edition created for the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Introduced in 2023, it pairs the automatic CRMC1 flyback chronograph with a white-and-green Quartz TPT case and design details inspired by the Le Mans circuit. It is an anniversary release, not a new 2026 announcement.
Why Richard Mille made a Le Mans Classic edition
The official product page describes the watch as a celebration of the 24 Hours of Le Mans centenary and states that production is limited to 150 pieces. Richard Mille says its relationship with the biennial Le Mans Classic began in 2002, and that it has created watches for every edition of the event since 2008. The RM 72-01 continues that event-specific watchmaking link.
The dial’s double-lap motif references the 13.626-kilometre circuit, according to Richard Mille. The special edition adds orange chronograph accents, a chequered date frame and a “LE MANS CLASSIC” plaque. LEON’s 2023 description identifies the case as white-and-green Quartz TPT and the strap as rubber.

What the CRMC1 movement does
The CRMC1 is an automatic-winding chronograph with a flyback function: the chronograph can be reset and restarted in one operation, rather than stopped before resetting. Richard Mille specifies bidirectional winding and the listed timekeeping, date and chronograph functions. The function indicator shows the selected operating mode; stop seconds allow the balance to be halted when setting the time.

Richard Mille describes the flyback architecture as using patented oscillating pinions and says the chronograph and daily timekeeping functions are separated so operating the chronograph does not impede the base movement. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance findings. The stated circa-50-hour reserve carries a ±10% tolerance.
