Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur Grande Complication brings together a perpetual calendar with bi-retrograde day and date displays, a minute repeater and an automatic tourbillon. Deployant’s April 3, 2025 release coverage reported an eight-piece edition in a 45 mm pink-gold case, powered by calibre RD118 with a 60-hour power reserve.
What the Excalibur Grande Complication combines
The three headline complications are a perpetual calendar, a minute repeater and a tourbillon. The calendar adds a distinctive display: day of the week and date each move across a semi-circular retrograde scale, then return to zero at the end of their respective cycles. A month disc and leap-year indication complete the calendar display, according to Deployant’s April 3, 2025 report.
That report says the perpetual calendar requires no manual correction until 2100. This is a claim attributed to the release details reproduced by Deployant; the report does not establish setting instructions or independently verify how the mechanism behaves.
How the minute repeater and tourbillon work
Minute repeater
A pusher on the left side of the case activates the minute repeater. The reported striking sequence uses a low tone for hours, two tones for quarter-hours and a high tone for minutes. Deployant describes the combination as producing the interval known as the “devil’s chord.” An “all or nothing” safeguard means the pusher must be fully pressed for the chime to activate.

Flying tourbillon
The tourbillon sits between 5 and 6 o’clock. Deployant describes it as a flying construction with a titanium component and a polished cage inspired by a Celtic cross.

What the release details do—and do not—establish
Deployant reported that the watch made its world debut at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025. Its April 3, 2025 page said pricing was unavailable at publication. Current price, remaining stock and present retailer availability are not established here, so the eight-piece production figure should not be taken as evidence that any pieces are currently for sale.
The combination of a chiming complication, a perpetual calendar and a tourbillon makes this a densely specified grand complication rather than a watch whose appeal rests on case material or rarity alone. The report identifies the complication set and key display features, but does not provide enough information to assess comparative legibility, servicing requirements, ownership costs or current market value.
