The 2015 Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table II pairs a self-winding, time-only movement with a dial built around twelve tiny bronze knights. What makes the Knights of the Round Table II distinctive?
Instead of conventional hour markers, twelve three-dimensional bronze figures stand in a circle around the dial’s black-jade center. Each knight is about 6.5 mm tall. Their sculpted and micro-engraved details give the watch its visual complexity, while the underlying function remains straightforward: it is a time-only watch powered by an automatic movement.
Roger Dubuis Product Design Director Lionel Favre connected the figures’ theme to the brand’s craft, saying: “In this standout model, the motto of the mythical knights, ‘Courage and generosity’ reflects the Roger Dubuis approach to its craft.”

How the dial and case are made
The dial combines materials and finishes that serve different visual roles. Roger Dubuis’s May 2015 release says the black-jade “table” required a new engraving technique. Around it, the white-gold flange was engraved and patinated to evoke cobblestone paving. The small bronze knights were described as hand-finished castings with three-dimensional micro-engraving.

The launch materials also describe an engraved oath on the caseback and a blue-lacquered coat of arms. Monochrome and the Roger Dubuis release reported that producing two dials took a month, and the release said one knight required a day of work. These are production claims from contemporary launch coverage, not independently audited factory timings.
What did the Knights II cost, and is that price current?
Monochrome reported a US$268,000 retail price when covering the watch in August 2015. Treat it as a launch-era figure: it is not inflation-adjusted and does not establish today’s resale value, current asking price or availability. The edition comprised 28 watches, and contemporary launch material described boutique distribution; that does not confirm present stock. Anyone considering an acquisition would need a current, authenticated listing and an inspection of the specific watch’s condition.

How to distinguish this edition from other Round Table watches
The “II” matters. Roger Dubuis’s 2015 Knights II has an 18k white-gold case, bronze knights and an engraved black-jade dial center. Its 2013 predecessor was a separate 28-piece edition with gold knights and a different dial treatment.
Other watches have also used the Round Table name. A similarly titled Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie page describes a different iteration with a pink-gold case and figures, fragmented black Murano glass, a red Murano-glass rehaut and an indicated CHF 350,000 price. Those specifications and that price should not be applied to the 2015 Knights II.
